We wanted to share something close to our hearts today — a story about mental health in veterinary care, and a personal loss that shaped it ❤️‍🩹

Matt, owner of Arun Veterinary Group, will be taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon alongside his eldest daughter, Lily-Rose, on Sunday 4th October — running for the charity Mind. Behind the run is a story that's deeply personal to Matt: the realities of life as a vet, the struggles so many in our profession quietly carry, and a loss that changed how he sees the industry he's dedicated his life to.

Any support or encouragement would mean a great deal — whether that's a donation, or simply a message of encouragement as he and Lily-Rose finish their final weeks of training. This half marathon is only the beginning. Matt will take on the New York Marathon on 1st November too.

Here's Stanley, who came in 3rd place for Best Small/Medium Breed and, of course, wanted to pose with his rosette. And here's Rory, taking 3rd place for Best Veteran — every bit as proud of himself!

🎊 And finally… our 2026 Champion! 🏆

After over 280 entries and some very difficult decisions along the way, it’s time to reveal our overall Ashington Online Dog Show Champion…

A huge congratulations to Otis, owned by Madison Kerridge! ❤️

Otis took 1st place in our Best Large Breed class and has now gone on to take the overall Champion title. Otis has a Champion sash, rosette and goodie bag waiting for him at our Ashington practice.

Our Reserve Champion! 🏆💫

After working our way through over 280 entries and choosing our winners from each class, it was time to decide our overall Champion and Reserve Champion... We’re very pleased to reveal that our Ashington Online Dog Show Reserve Champion is Milo! ❤️

Milo took 1st place in our Judges Choice class and went on to take the Reserve Champion title. A huge congratulations to Milo and his owner, Sharon Hack! Milo has a special Reserve Champion sash and goodie bag waiting for him at our Ashington practice 🎊
