This is Teddy, a 4 year old Shih Tzu who recently visited our Chichester hospital for a**l gland removal surgery.

A**l gland issues can be uncomfortable and frustrating for dogs, particularly when problems become recurrent. Following discussion with our team, surgery was the best option for Teddy, and we're pleased to say he recovered well from his procedure.

Teddy was a wonderful patient throughout his stay and received plenty of fuss from the team 🥰

Did you know we have a hydrotherapy tank on site at our Storrington hospital? 💦

When speaking to clients, we're often surprised by how many aren't aware of some of the facilities available to them through Arun Veterinary Group.

A common misconception is that hydrotherapy is only for pets recovering from surgery or injury. While it plays an important role in rehabilitation, it can also be used to improve fitness, build strength, support weight management and help maintain mobility. It's also a popular option for active and performance dogs looking to improve conditioning in a low-impact environment.

If you're already a client of ours, simply speak to your vet. If hydrotherapy could benefit your pet, they can refer you directly to our in-house rehabilitation team at South Downs Veterinary Referrals, who will then contact you to arrange an appointment.

Having access to advanced services like hydrotherapy under one roof is just one of the many benefits of being part of Arun Veterinary Group.

This lovely little terrier is Ted Baker, a 7 year old Jack Russell who visited our Ashington clinic today for his vaccinations.

Ted was very relaxed throughout his appointment and seemed more than happy having a little chill out on the consult table with a few gravy bones. Such a sweet boy and an absolute pleasure to see ✨

We're incredibly proud to share that Zara our Lead Nurse at Chichester has won the Pet Blood Bank UK REAL Award (Recognition, Excellence, Achievement and Lifesaving)! 🥳🎉🌟

The REAL Awards recognise the individuals and teams who go above and beyond to support pet blood donation and help save the lives of pets across the UK.

Through hosting regular Pet Blood Bank donation sessions at our hospital, raising awareness and championing the importance of donation, Zara has played a huge role in supporting this lifesaving service. What makes this achievement even more special is that Zara was recognised alongside and against much larger referral centres from across the country, making this award a fantastic accomplishment 🙌

Every blood donation has the potential to save a life, and Zara's dedication has helped ensure more pets can access the blood products they need when they need them most.

This award is thoroughly deserved and we're all incredibly proud of everything Zara has achieved. Well done, Zara! ❤️💫

This is Rupert, and isn't he a handsome boy?

While visiting Vet Emma at our Westergate practice, Rupert decided to show off his reception skills and see if there were any vacancies behind the desk! We think he looks quite at home greeting clients and keeping everyone in order. Although we're not sure he'd be too keen on answering the phones...

Such a lovely boy, and always a pleasure to see ❤️

Our next Pet Blood Bank UK session is being held at our Chichester hospital this Sunday. We have 6 sessions left - if you can spare an hour of your time and your dog meets the criteria, you would be helping to save the lives of many other dogs needing urgent care ❤️‍🩹

This little cutie is Reggie, a 1 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and one of our VIP Care Plan members.

Reggie enjoys all the benefits of being on the plan, including annual vaccinations, flea and worm treatment, health checks and discounts across a range of services. Being our neighbour means he regularly pops in to see us — usually making the most of the treats and attention from the team ❤️

He visited us yesterday for a nail clip with Luci and, as always, was a pawfect patient. Safe to say we all love seeing his super cute little face whenever he comes in ✨

This gorgeous boy is Chutney, a 1 year old Maine C**n who recently underwent orthopaedic surgery at our Chichester hospital 🐾

Chutney was initially admitted through South Downs Emergency Vets after suffering a traumatic hip injury which left him unable to use his hind legs. Following emergency stabilisation, advanced imaging and several days of inpatient care, Chutney underwent surgery with our Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery, Laura.

Laura performed an iliofemoral suture repair to stabilise Chutney’s luxated hip, and we’re really pleased to say he has recovered brilliantly since surgery. At his recent post-operative check, Chutney was walking really well, healing beautifully and has now officially had his buster collar removed.

Cases like Chutney’s are a great example of how our emergency, inpatient and surgical teams work together under one roof to provide seamless, continuous care without the need for stressful transfers between practices. A huge well done to everybody involved in his care ✨

We’ve had a stray entire male dog handed into our to our Storrington hospital this morning. He’s an older boy who is looking a bit scruffy. He’s microchipped but not registered. Please contact our Storrington team if you recognise this dog.

We’ve had a stray tortoise handed into our Westergate clinic this afternoon - found near Aldingbourne primary school.

We have now transfered the tortoise to our Chichester hospital for overnight care. Please contact our Chichester team if you are missing tortoise.
