This time of year we get a lot of comments or questions about swapping foods as owners think their dog has gone off its current food.

Dogs naturally eat less to control their body temperature so as you would expect as the heat of the weather rises their appetite decreases. This is because they don’t need energy from the food to keep warm.

Don’t panicking, don’t change their food.

If your dog is really slowing down with their eating try to give them a quarter of their daily food for breakfast and then at bedtime when the temperature has come down significantly give them the rest of their food and this should help balance what they eat as well as produce less waste for you.

If you find they are still just not quite finishing their dinner then as explained they might just not need as much just now because their bodies arnt burning as much energy. Try reducing their dinner slightly and take it from there. Just remember they might want more again in the colder months 😂

We have little Bonnie looking for her forever home.

Bonnie is 4 years old and due to her owner going into hospital and not being able to return home she is now looking for her forever family.

She is great with other dogs and kids but has never been around birds or small animals so we don’t know for sure about her reaction there.

She needs a home asap as where she is currently she is left on her own for very long periods of time.

If you think you could love Bonnie then please send us a message. She comes with everything she needs and as you can see was just at the groomers on Friday so she’s fresh and ready to go.
