🐾Barney's Training Journey🐾

Barney did my 1-1 Puppy Programme. Throughout the sessions we built up all the training foundations around focus, impulse control, engagement, lead walking and recall.
He did so well over the weeks. With the effort from his owners he was able to settle a lot easier in the house, was able to start practising impulse control more on his own, and walks became much more enjoyable.
He now has a fully personalised training plan and routine to help him continue his progress!
Well done Barney ❤️

✨ A little reintroduction ✨

Hello to all my lovely new followers (and a reminder for those who have been here a while 👋).

I'm Lydia (and Zep), the owner and trainer behind The Canine Coven 🖤🐾

The Canine Coven was built around three things: confidence, calmness and connection. I think that success in dog training comes from helping owners understand dog behaviours and work with their dogs. My classes are educational, supportive and built around the dog owner relationship.

Thank you for being here and supporting my small business. Whether you're new here or have been following for a while, I'm so glad you're part of the community 🖤

🐾 MIDDLE SCHOOL IS BACK! 🐾 Only 3 spots left!!

Has your once-perfect puppy suddenly developed selective hearing? 😅

Pulling on the lead, ignoring recall, struggling to focus, finding everything more exciting than you, or generally acting like a teenager? Welcome to adolescence!

The Canine Coven’s Middle School course is designed specifically for dogs aged 6-24 months, helping you navigate the challenges of the teenage phase using positive, reward-based training.

✨ Included in your course:

🐶 4 practical training classes
🐶 Weekly 1-1 support time during class

🐶 Certificate of completion
🐶 A special training freebie to take home

This is the final Middle School intake available at just £75 before classes upgrade for summer!

Roxy's Training Journey 🐾

I started working with Roxy to work on her reactivity towards dogs. We worked on engagement, impulse & frustration control, place training for settling & using clicker training to build a clear line of communication and lead skills to help reduce lead frustrations.

She did amazing with the training, picking up the skills quickly and was able to reduce reactions and calm her self down quicker. While she still needed to work with distance, she was able to watch dogs calmly which would have been impossible for her at the start.

A big well done to Roxy and her owners for staying consistent with her training 👏 ❤️✨️

The Canine Coven is taking part in Small Business Week from 1st - 7th June.

Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities, and this week is all about encouraging more people to shop small, buy local and support independent businesses.

I would love your support this week. You can leave a review, share a post, recommend to a friend or book on to one of my services if you have been thinking about it.

Every small thing you do can help a small business out massively.

I did my first scentwork workshop with Finn, Betsy and Yelena who all did amazing at it! Everyone was a total beginner and they all had so much fun with it.
We started with learning foundations of searching and then slowly upped the challenge with adding in extra obstacles and decoy boxes. Everyone then took home their boxes and a cloth to practice through the week so by week 2 we could start practising more indications, scent discrimination and see the dogs search for their owners specific scent. Watch the dogs find their own owners boxes!
I had so much fun doing this and I can't wait to do it again!

Do you want to try scentwork with your dog? Get in touch to get on the waiting list for my complete beginner scentwork workshop!
