Let’s talk training dummies with Emma…😊

Training dummies are such a simple bit of kit, but they’re brilliant for helping your dog practise retrieving, carrying and bringing things back all while keeping training fun…🐾

They’re particularly popular for gun dog training, helping to build focus, confidence and that all-important bond between dog and handler 🦴

We’ve got training dummies available here at Pilling Pet Shop, so if you’re not sure which one would be best for your dog, just pop in and have a chat with us…😊🐾

🐾 WE NEED SOME PET PRODUCT TESTERS 🐾

We came back from the trade show with quite the haul of samples and goodies for your four-legged friends and we need your HELP 🐶🐱

Rather than us deciding what we should stock next, we thought we’d let you (and your pets!) have a say ❤️

We’ve got a selection of treats, foods and other pet products for you to take away and try. All we ask in return is that you give us some genuine feedback on what your pet thought of them 💭😊

Your feedback will help us decide which products might earn themselves a place on the shelves here at Pilling Pet Shop…✅

Pop in and see us if you fancy being one of our official Pilling Pet Shop product testers or tag someone you think would love to help us 🐾

Three pet lovers + hundreds of pet brands = dangerous 😂🐾 🐾

Tom, Karen & Emma recently headed to PATS 2026 at the NEC Birmingham, the UK’s leading pet & aquatics trade show 🐶🐱🐰🐦

It was a brilliant chance to meet suppliers, discover new products and get plenty of inspiration for what we could bring to Pilling Pet Shop next ❤️

Safe to say…we spotted a few things we liked 😊

Have a flick through the photos and tell us is there anything you’d like to see on the shelves 🐶🐈‍⬛

Training dummies — a simple tool with a big purpose! 🐾

For gun dogs, training dummies are an essential part of developing good retrieving skills. They help dogs learn to mark, retrieve, carry and return reliably, while building focus, confidence and a strong partnership with their handler.

And the best part? They absolutely love it! 🐕💨

For many dogs, retrieving feels like a game — and that enthusiasm can make training enjoyable while reinforcing good habits. Regular dummy work can help turn natural retrieving instincts into a controlled and dependable skill.

Whether you’re working on basic retrieves or progressing your dog’s training, a good dummy is a fantastic addition to your training kit.

Train with purpose. Keep it fun. Build the bond. 🐾🎾
