This is the intented outcome of teaching a place command. It takes a while to get there and is done in stages, but it’s worth it. The “place” becomes a crate without bars, and particularly important for the “worrier” dogs, it also becomes a sanctuary of peace. 🙏

Please don’t enjoy your dogs’ desperation to be with you. Encouraging the behaviour pretty much amounts to revelling in their pain. 😕 Help them to understand that it’s cool to be separated and you don’t expect them to lose it whenever you reunite.
