Nest update, 3 babies for this pair doing amazingly, older two have been rung now.
Colouring and feather starting to come through on the oldest one looking too be a yf dominant pied, not looking crested but possibly could be tufted still
Mum and dad doing amazing as always although she can be a messy feeding leaving leftovers all over the babies beaks but they do always have full crops 🙌🏽

With the colder nights already starting too show up and almost my entire flock has gone into moults some a lot rougher than others but feathers are everywhere decided now is the best time for the cover too go up, all sides are now block and no risk of winds or breezes creeping through, if we have hotter days it’s easy too unhook too give them some fresh air
Otherwise everybody is healthy and happy very vocal today and although veg has been given nobody’s been down too eat yet although I think Yh at because I’ve been in and out fir a good few hours before I took the video moving things around and cleaning up the messes they constantly make 🤣🤣

Update from the zebra finches, these two had laid 1 clutch previously which sadly none ever hatched from but finally they laid a clutch of 3 and all 3 hatched and have now fledged the nest mum and dad have been amazing and all 3 have fledged over the past few days haven’t seen anybody eating yet but I’m sure that won’t take long 🙌🏽

Nest update, sadly outta the 6 eggs that were under this pair 2 were infertile and one was DIS and sadly didn’t hatch but for these 3 they are growing amazingly and mum and dad doing just a good job as they did there first round with full crops everytime I go too check, can see the white downs coming through on the oldest meaning definetly a blue serious and can almost guarantee a pied from these two, oldest is 9 days old today and has been rung others are a few days behind him 🙌🏽

Everybody in the bird room got a nice clean today and veg given
Currently have 7 pair of budgies down too breed and 1 pair of cockatiels

1st cage is a bf female too a Texas clearbody male, these two have started nesting over the past week so hopefully eggs will arrive soon

2nd cage is a clearwing skyblue male too a violet normal female these two aren’t showing signs of nesting yet but is still early days

3rd cage is a pair of dominant pieds and no matter how hard this male is trying the female prefers too be batman and just hand upside down all day 🤣🤣

4th pair is my crested dominant pied male too recessive pied female these two have 2 babies and 2 more eggs too hatch praying atleast one babies has a nest crest like dad but all should be pieds 🤞🏼🤞🏼

5th cage is my baby cage, currently just the 3 in there, a clearwing Texas clearbody female a normal split bf male and a blackface Blackwing female

6th cage is my pair of finches these two have 3 babies currently all doing well

7th cage is my only exhibition pair a dominant pied male too an albino sadly there first clutch was all infertile eggs so I trimmed there feathers and am trying again, they’ve gone back too nesting and feathers are starting too appear in the bottom of the nest so hopefully eggs any day now

8th cage is my dominant pied male too recessive pied female these two have been nesting for almost a week now and more feathers are gathering in the nest every day

9th cage is my cockatiel pair a white face make too a whiteface female these two have only been together for around a week but already going into the nest and the female has been a mum before so have high hopes

Last cage is a green oplaine pair, not my usual pick but these two bonded within the rescue flight and started going for others so thought best bet was pull them inside and give them what they clearly wanted, these two explored the nest instantly and I’m sure eggs will come shortly 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Finally my luck seems to be turning around and after what feels like has been a good 6 months I have a little baby budgie again, this pair has 4 eggs 3 of which are there’s one was found in the rescue flight so thought I’d give it a chance see what happened
This egg hatched yesterday and when I check on Monday evening you could hear it chirping away in the egg and trying too break through then by time I check next morning he was out and had a full crop 🙌🏽
Mum and dad are amazing parents both spending 90% of there time in the nest box other than too eat and drink basically
Hoping too get some cresteds from these two likely pied and all will carry recessive pied which will be very useful for next year 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Been longer the usual since the flock last had there veggies everybody took a second too realise I had put it in but then all swarmed down digging in

Everybody looking amazing on this nice warm morning, hoping around the cockatiels chilling in there pairs and the budgies are most doing there own thing playing 🙌🏽

These two beauties finally decided too lay there sound round almost 3 months are the first babies fledged the nest
Mum is a recessive pied female dad is a crested dominant pied male they did have 6 eggs 4 which this pair laid and 2 fostered in but sadly number 1 from the pair and the first foster egg were infertile but I know mum can raise 4 babies fine as she did with her previous clutch which was also 3 foster babies 😅
Praying for some crested pieds outta the 3 eggs from her but a long waiting game for a while before we can see if they have any crested on them 🤞🏼🤞🏼

A pair I don’t show too often but have some of the best personality’s possible and in my opinion are an amazing bird
My zebra finch pair been together for almost a year now with no luck, 3 clutches laid 2 nests full of infertile eggs and finally this clutch looks promising with 4 eggs all fertile and 3 of the 4 hatching, they are all around a week old now with nice full crops and mum and dad doing brilliant with the feedings and taking care of them while still looking in perfect condition themselves
