🪰 FLIES: BECAUSE YOUR JUMPING SPIDER DESERVES DINNER AND A SHOW.

Eight eyes. Eight legs. Absolutely no intention of eating the meal you’ve politely placed in front of them. Sound familiar? 🙄🕷️

Green bottle flies bring something extra to the menu:

👀 Dinner that gets noticed. Jumping spiders hunt by sight, so an active fly gives them something to spot, stalk and pounce on. Basically enrichment with a snack at the end.

🥊 Less fight in every bite. Unlike crickets, adult green bottle flies don’t have biting jaws. That means less risk of dinner biting back. Your spider ordered a takeaway, not a wrestling match.

🪱 Less hide-and-seek. Mealworms can burrow into substrate. Flies tend to move around the enclosure, making themselves easier for your little hunter to notice. Subtle? No. Useful? Absolutely.

📦 Convenient little fly parcels. Casters are the pupal stage the bit before the adult fly emerges. Hatch them in a separate, suitable container, then offer appropriately sized flies to your spider. Dinner is undergoing a transformation. Please respect its privacy.

So why does SPOODIES UK LTD produce fresh batches of casters every month?

Because casters are developing insects, not cupboard ornaments. Their age, storage conditions and temperature affect emergence. Regular fresh batches help us keep stock moving and avoid relying on prolonged storage giving you a fresh starting point for hatching your feeders.

Fresh batches matter. So does looking after them properly once they arrive. 💅

Flies are a useful feeder, but no insect deserves a magic “perfect nutrition” crown. Choose food suited to your spider’s size, offer appropriate variety, remove uneaten prey and leave moulting spiders in peace.
