Beau Chien Dog Grooming Salon is located in the heart of Portchester, near Fareham in Hampshire. We are a family run business and pride ourselves on our professional but friendly way in which we deal with our valued customers. We have a large local client base which has been built up by personal recommendations and word of mouth by our existing customers. There are no cage driers or holding crates

in our shop - something which has been popular with our customers. We are proud of the way in which we have proven that we can deal with previously nervous or difficult dogs. This is achieved by the stress free atmosphere we have created here at Beau Chien. 🐾☀️ With the temperatures getting so high in the next few days , please think carefully before walking your dog to their grooming appointment. The pavements can become far too hot for little paws, and the heat can be dangerous for dogs.

If you usually walk to the salon and are unable to travel another way, please don’t hesitate to contact us to rearrange your appointment for a cooler day. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first 💛

The salon is fully air conditioned, so once your pup is with us they’ll be nice and cool and comfortable 🐶❄️

Today we welcomed a gorgeous 12 week old puppy for his very first grooming session 🐶✨

This is exactly the age I recommend puppies start coming to the salon — not for a full groom straight away, but to gently introduce them to all the sights, sounds, smells and handling that grooming involves. Early positive experiences help puppies grow into calm, confident dogs who enjoy their grooming appointments rather than fear them 💛

During these first puppy sessions we focus on:
✂️ Getting used to being brushed
🚿 Introducing the bath and dryer slowly
🐾 Handling paws, face and ears gently
🛁 Building trust and confidence
💖 Making the whole experience positive and stress-free

These early visits are so important for their future grooming journey and overall wellbeing. A puppy who learns grooming is safe and enjoyable from the beginning is far more relaxed as they grow older.

Here’s the outcome we all wanted for precious Zues 💙

He came to me on Wednesday to get posh and be picked up by his new mum and dad . He had a lovely bath, his nails cut, a fresh trim and loads of kisses and cuddles.

I had lots of tears , sad tears because he needed a new home in the first place and I couldn’t have him myself and happy tears that I found him a wonderful new family.

I took him for a visit on Sunday to meet them and he had a ball exploring his new home eyeing up all the rooms he could have a bed and toys 🧸. He was was confident enough to go exploring and he had some treats then a little walk.

So after his groom on Wednesday his new mum picked him up. 🥹. I’ve already had pupdates and pictures and my heart is completely full.

The lovely thing too is that I will still see him when he comes in for his groom so I won’t miss him too much.

Thankyou to all of you who asked to have him, its makes me so happy to know so many of you would have opened your heart and your home for him. 🙏

I just wanted to do a little update about Molly the beauty who needed a new home. Well I can safely say she’s one happy, lucky girly, she’s found a new family. They adore her already, she’s been to meet Nan and grandad, she’s been on walks, she’s got comfy on the couch and the loveliest thing is she even slept on her new mummy’s bed last night! This makes my heart so happy. 🙏.

Thankyou to all of you for asking to meet her but she’s ‘home’. It’s good to know we have a community on here that I can ask again in the future if I need another little fur baby rehomed. ♥️
