Otis had a big transition because he had a LOT of coat to lose. He'll be feeling nice and cool now!

What a cutie he was ❤️

Gotta Groom 'Em All! 🐾

Love this poster designed by my fabulous husband. The unticked doggos are breeds I haven't had the pleasure of grooming at the cabin yet!

If you bring me a breed that's still unticked, you'll receive 15% off your groom and get the honour of ticking that breed off the poster yourself ❤️

Which breed do you think will be next?

Mudi by name, but not by nature. Meet Rex the gorgeous, senior Mudi.

Rex's mum was the winner of the voucher we recently donated to Waifs & Strays Cat Rescue, Dorset.

Rex finished his groom the same way he started it, laid out, chilled, on the floor.

I can confirm that we DID manage to get him in the bath, but standing up was not Rex's favourite activity. In fact, his preference was to be horizontal 100% of the time.

He is such a lovely boy ♥️

This is me, and I am still learning every day.

One thing I’m learning as a groomer is that sometimes you walk away from a groom knowing it wasn’t quite what you’d hoped for aesthetically.

I had one of those this week, and I’ve overthought it far more than I should have. Not because the dog was unsafe, uncomfortable, or poorly handled, quite the opposite. The dog was safe, cared for, managed kindly, and its welfare always came first.

But when you care about what you do, it’s easy to fixate on the bits you wish you’d done differently.

So this is just a reminder to myself (and maybe anyone else who needs it): perfection isn’t always the measure of a good job. Sometimes professionalism is being honest with yourself and the owner, learning from it, and remembering that mistakes or imperfect results happen to every single person working hands-on with animals.

The owner was absolutely lovely by the way, and the dog even more so. Sat beautifully on the table and was just a diamond.
