🐾💙 Meet the Gorgeous Podrick! 💙🐾

Say hello to our newest superstar, Podrick! 😍 He's now had a few sessions with us here at Pawseidon Canine Rehabilitation Centre, and we couldn't be more proud of how well he's doing.

Podrick is with us following a diagnosis of spondylosis, and he's already growing in confidence with every visit. His favourite part of hydrotherapy? That has to be our famous Cheese Tank! 🧀😂 A little squeezy cheese goes a long way when it comes to motivation, and Podrick is definitely a big fan!

He's been working so hard, and we can't wait to see the progress he continues to make. Keep up the fantastic work, Podrick.....you're an absolute star! ⭐🐶

Nothing beats a post-swim reward... especially when it's squeezy cheese! 🧀🐾💦

Daisy certainly knows how to end a hydrotherapy session in style! After all her hard work in the pool, her favourite treat makes every swim worthwhile (and we can't blame her! 😋).

We think this photo perfectly captures the joy of rehabilitation.....working hard, having fun, and of course, earning that well-deserved cheesy reward! ❤️

FRIDAY K9 INTEREST

A brilliant example of the trust, control and adaptability required between a working dog and its handler.

Military working dogs and their handlers from the 509th Security Forces Squadron took part in water-aggression training designed to familiarise the dogs with an unusual environment and strengthen their ability to apprehend a target in water.

☀️🐻❄️ Meet the very handsome Rajah! ❄️🐻☀️

Everyone say hello to Rajah, our gorgeous Chow Chow, who will be celebrating his 6th birthday next month! 🥳🎉

Rajah has started his rehabilitation journey with us to help strengthen his back legs, and we think he's already worked out the most important part of his treatment... 😂

During his consultation with Emma, while we were discussing his rehabilitation plan, Rajah made a beeline for the air conditioning and promptly parked himself right in front of it! 🌬️😎 Smart boy! With temperatures like these, we really can't blame him.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be helping Rajah build strength, improve his mobility and keep him feeling his very best. We can't wait to watch his progress and we're pretty sure he'll be checking that the air con is switched on every visit too! 🤣💙

🌞 Hot weather = extra care for our dogs! 🐶💙

Heatstroke can happen quickly and is a medical emergency. Help keep your dog safe by:

💧 Providing plenty of fresh water
🌳 Walking early morning or late evening
🥵 Avoiding hot pavements
❄️ Offering cool, shady places to rest
🚗 Never leaving your dog in a parked car

Signs of heatstroke include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, wobbliness or collapse. If you suspect heatstroke, move your dog somewhere cool, offer small amounts of water, begin cooling them with cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact your vet immediately.

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine responsibly! ☀️🐾

☀️ Hot Weather Advisory for Our Hydrotherapy Dogs ☀️

With temperatures set to rise significantly this week, we'd like to remind all clients to take extra care when travelling to and from their appointments.

Please avoid arriving too early where possible, and never leave your dog waiting in a parked vehicle, even for a short period. Many dogs will already be feeling the effects of the heat before they arrive, and although they exercise in water, our hydrotherapy pool is maintained at a therapeutic temperature to support rehabilitation and fitness, rather than to cool dogs down.

The safety and comfort of our canine clients is always our priority, so some sessions may need to be adjusted or shortened depending on the individual dog, their condition, and how they are coping with the warmer weather.

💧 Please ensure your dog has access to plenty of fresh water before travelling.

🐾 If you have any concerns about your dog's appointment during the hot weather, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

📅 We still have a small number of appointments available this week. Whether your dog is attending for rehabilitation, pain management, fitness, or simply enjoys their hydrotherapy sessions, please get in touch if you would like to book.
