๐Firework season is nearly upon us ๐
This can cause stress, anxiety and even aggression in pets, here are our top tips for preparing your pet:
โ
Invest in a pet pheromone diffuser that helps ease stress and anxiety
โ
Walk your dog early to avoid being outside when fireworks start
โ
If your cat is an outdoor cat, it is worth trying to keep them in when they come home earlier in the day
โ
Create a safe space, somewhere calm and familiar for your pet to retreat to. Fill this with their bowls, food, favourite toys and bedding
โ
Provide plenty of hiding spaces where they can safely hide away from noise
โ
Close windows, curtains and blinds to help muffle loud noises and shut out bright flashes and sparks
โ
Turn up the radio or TV to help mask the loud bangs and crackles
โ
Give rabbits extra bedding to burrow into when they get scared
โ
Stay at home if possible, to avoid your pet becoming stressed or destructive in your absence
โ
Keep pets occupied with a food activity toy to take their mind off the noises
