Sump conversion from multiple layers of sponges which were constantly getting caked in detritus and on every clean the beneficial bacteria count would drastically reduce leading to cloudy water ('new tank syndrome'). The conversion is very simple, take out sponges, run shed loads of air into it (i used a blagdon Lou air 25) then whacked in roughly 15-20 litres of Evolution aqua K1 media (Kaldness). This media has massive surface area for the bacteria, and better still does not need cleaning. All detritus is removed using JBL symec prior the the K1 media and is changed on a weekly basis

This Juwel vision 260 is sparsely stocked but it's inhabitants (2x large clown loach) are much loved by their owner and love to live and hide in the ship ornament feature. This aquarium unlike majority of juelwel aquariums has had its internal filter stripped out and had an aquamanta 400 put in its place to keep the water quality high.
