Students at the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training & Behavior learn to handle and teach skills to all kinds of dogs including this beautiful Leonberger. Isn’t she gorgeous? Learning how to teach all dogs, regardless of their breed, size,sex or behaviour issue using humane methods, is our philosophy at VSA and we love how effective it is in teaching skills, promoting confidence and strengthening bonds between dogs and people. I wish all dogs were trained this way, but unfortunately that is not the case. However, the more people learn how to teach without intimidating dogs or causing pain, the more dogs and people will benefit and that is why I’m so happy that VSA students go on to run such successful businesses.

Last week Kim's Home took on another dog. Those of you who have followed us for a long time will know what it means when I say that she came from the same hideous place as Grace, Charlie, Rowan and so many others. Thankfully she is young and doesn't seem too damaged by her time owned by a known abuser and locked in a metal container open to the elements - no bedding of course. She is only 11/12 months old and will soon get stronger. I am so grateful to a friend who is fostering her for me. She will be spayed late April when she has put on some weight. She is playful, gentle and will be looking for a home from May.
