A lovely way to finish the last day before holiday. Little cutie came in for a visit to see what goes on in a grooming salon. She was a very good puppy. Loved her treats. It was all too much excitement checking things out, as she curled up on the sofa and had forty winks.

I can put up with being dried as long as I can stay on the comfy sofa. I'll just rest my head for a while.

Flea infestation. See helpful advice as follow for chemical free flea prevention and parasite checks. Avoid those nasty, dangerous chemicals which owners are told to put on their dogs every month or 3 months. My girlie is flea free when following a good regime of shampoo with neem oil, cedarwood oil and citronella - natural parasite deterrents. Also drops containing these ingredients. Regular clean bedding and hoovering. Her coat is combed and brushed regularly and kept tidy; not allowed to be 'overgrown', knotted and matted.

Do you know the difference between a happy dog and signs of stress in a dog? This one is reported to be smiling, but this dog is panting not smiling. Panting and non relaxed ears or ears back is a sign of stress (yes dogs pant if they are hot too). The eyes also tell a story. Do you know what happens to your dog after you have deposited him/her at your groomer? Do you ask if they strap them up so they can't relax, or whether they are allowed to take breaks or adopt a relaxed posture through the groom? We promote comfort and relaxation as far as possible. Sometimes belly straps are used to help support a dog while grooming the underneath, if they won't lie down on their side. Harnesses may be used for our most lively customers for safety.

The mass art and craft work is under way for the shop displays and for Christmas. Ceramics and drawings in hand. Hand made gifts made to order; if you would like an item crafted, let us know. The first batch of seahorses and owls now drying. Firing and glazing to follow.

Last one of the week. Was a good boy today. He normally hates having his front legs groomed. I gave him bribes today. Thank goodness he likes treats.
