10/10 bravery points for Coco!🐾
This absolute superstar is one of our regular visitors, and she was such a super-behaved girl while having her bloods done on her recent visit. To reward her top-tier bravery, our creative nurse Ellie styled her bandage with a fancy heart sticker! 💚❤️‍🩹🩺
Way to be such a brave girl, Coco! 🌟🐶

🐾 When exactly does a pet become "old"?
One of the strange things about pets is that there is often quite a gap between them technically becoming a "senior" and actually behaving like one!
We see plenty of older dogs who are still desperate for their walks and plenty of older cats who remain completely capable of ruling the household.
🔍 A few grey hairs don’t tell you much
It’s easy to think of ageing in pets as something obvious, but very often the changes are gradual:
💙 A dog may still want the same walks.
💙 A cat may still be eating well and behaving normally.
💙 Everything can look much the same from day to day.
That’s one of the reasons routine checks become so useful as pets get older.🩺 They give us a chance to look at the things that owners understandably can’t see at home and build up a clearer picture of how your pet is really doing.
💬 We’d love to know: when did your pet actually start behaving older, if they ever did?
Feel free to share a photo in the comments!
We will start with a photo of the lovely Murphy, the sweetest older boy who always looks for a treat and the gorgeous Dusty!🐾We suspect there will be quite a few examples of pets who have completely ignored their age. 👇📸

Look who came in for her very first annual adult vaccination! Meet Cruz! 🐶💙
Swipe to see how much she’s grown since her first visit as a puppy 🥺➡️🐕 She was the bravest, most well-behaved girl during her visit!
It was lovely to see you Cruz!
There’s nothing quite like watching our patients go from tiny pups to adults. Give Cruz some extra love in the comments! 👇💙

💙Introducing: Young at Heart 🐾
our beloved dogs and cats aged 8 years and older! 🐶🐱
We all know that some pets grow older without ever really acting like it. They might sprout a few extra grey hairs, nap a bit longer, or move at a gentler pace—but at heart, they're still the same wonderful companion.
The goal behind Young at Heart is simple: to help you keep a closer eye on your pet's health as they age, ensuring they stay happy, comfortable, and thriving—even when they seem perfectly well.
Over the next couple of months, we'll be sharing spotlight stories of our older patients alongside expert tips and advice on senior pet care.

Meet Maverick 🐾 The Handsome Maine C**n!
Prepare to be captivated by Maverick, a truly magnificent Maine C**n 🐈. I think we can all agree, he's a very handsome fellow!
Beyond his stunning appearance, did you know these amazing facts about Maine C**ns?
💙 Gentle Giants: Adult males can weigh a whopping 7-11 kg (15-25 lbs)! ⚖️
💙 Slow Growers: Unlike most cats that reach full size in a year, Maine C**ns continue to grow for 3-5 years. 📈
💙 Water-Resistant Fur: Their heavy, shaggy double coat acts as a natural shield, repelling water to help them survive harsh New England winters. ☔️
💙 Soft Chirps: Instead of loud meows, they communicate with gentle chirps, trills, and chitters. 🎵
💙 Extra Toes: Many early Maine C**ns are polydactyl, meaning they have extra toes that once worked like natural snowshoes in deep snow. ❄️
Maverick is not just a pretty face – he's a testament to the fascinating and unique breed that is the Maine C**n!

Meet Sebastian!💙 It was his first time visiting us, and what a lovely, friendly boy he was!🐈‍⬛
He had a general health check with our vet and a little pawdicure, all while studying the cat poster to see if he featured on there himself. 🐾✨
If you would like to book your furry friend in for a general health check or even just a nail trim, give us a call at the practice! 📞
