Walter enjoys his exercise and would suit an active home. He has been well socialised around other dogs, ideally he would like to live with a female dog as he can sometimes be boisterous around males.
He is good around smaller dogs and has been kennelled with a spaniel and an OAP Lhasa who he was very soft with!

Brilliant with everyone and children, the more fuss the better.

He does eat sensitive kibble with raw meat, as he did have a weight issue however has got to a healthy state with the diet we have him on which someone could continue.

Very excitable,strong dog. Would suit an active home. Playful with other dogs, good with older children who can’t be knocked over. Would benefit from someone who has time and patience to train her.

Timid little dog, previous owner sadly had dementia and was a bit rough with him so he doesn’t like sudden movements / being grabbed.

Wants a quiet home , no children. Enjoys walking but also sitting on your lap. Ideal friend for a retired person.

Fine walking on lead around other dogs but again is very nervous.

He didn’t complain and then went off lead for the first time ❤️

Lovely friendly big lad, loves a fuss. He has been neglected so will be seeing the groomer this week and getting a vet check & vaccines done before leaving us. The man who kindly brought him to us also said he had cracked ribs previously and has suffered some abuse, however he seems comfortable and just needs to gain some weight and condition.

He needs to put weight on and have a lot of TLC

We have accumulated a lot of new followers recently so thought it would be good to share the faces behind the rescue 🐕

We are a family run , small scale dog rescue kennels.

Helen set up the kennels in 2001 , following in the footsteps of her grandmother who ran Ponderosa Kennels in Allerton Bywater which may of you have adopted dogs from over the years.

Helen’s daughter Luci now runs the rescue, this is who you will meet when you come to see us! 🐶
