West Yorkshire Sniffers

What type of dog do you have? 👀🐾

Older? Nervous? Reactive? Easily distracted? Full of beans? 😂

Mantrailing can work for loads of different dogs because they get to use their nose, work things out and follow a trail at their own pace.

They don’t have to be super fit, super obedient or some kind of working-dog genius.

It’s just a really fun way to give them a job to do and let them use their natural ability.

We run Mantrailing Introduction Sessions every Saturday morning in West Yorkshire.

Could your dog actually find someone lost in the woods? 🌳

Reggie absolutely worked his arse off on this one.

Woodland trails are bloody hard. Scent gets moved around by the wind, trapped around bushes and trees, scattered across the ground and carried off in completely different directions.

Then you’ve got wildlife smells everywhere, thick undergrowth, rough ground and a hidden person tucked away under camo.

At one point Reggie knew exactly where he wanted to go… but the direct route was just too rough for us to get through. So he had to work out another way round without losing the scent.

And Linda had no idea where the hidden person was either.

No helping him.
No steering him.
Just trust the dog and follow.

Eventually he got us there. Proper mega challenge in wet, windy conditions and they both did brilliantly.

This is why I bloody love Mantrailing. It’s not just “follow a smell” as the dog has to think, problem solve and make decisions the whole way through.

🏆 WELL… THIS IS A LOVELY LITTLE SURPRISE! 🏆

West Yorkshire Sniffers has been selected as a FINALIST in the Northern Region Animal Star Awards 2026! 🐾🥳
I’m actually ridiculously proud of this one.
The Animal Star Awards have been running since 2016 and recognise people and businesses making a difference across the animal sector. Finalists are shortlisted through an independent judging panel of industry experts, so having my little business independently looked at and selected means an awful lot. ❤️ Animal Star Awards UK
West Yorkshire Sniffers started because I absolutely LOVE scent work and what it can give our dogs. From pet dogs who just need a brilliant outlet for that nose, to reactive and fearful dogs who can suddenly go outdoors and have a job to do without pressure, it never gets boring watching them work.
Although, to be fair, my clients will confirm that I don’t exactly make it easy for myself. 😂 If there’s a ridiculous search area, strange challenge or an idea that starts with “I’ve thought of something…”, we’re probably doing it.
I genuinely love what I do. I love my slightly bonkers classes, I love watching owners realise just how bloody clever their dogs are, and I love the little community I have created around it.
So to whoever nominated me… THANK YOU. 🥹
And to everyone who comes along to my classes, trusts me with their dogs, joins in with my mad ideas and makes West Yorkshire Sniffers what it isas this one’s a little bit yours too. 💜 an extra special shout out to my clients Linda Shields Amy Becca Charlotte ormondroyd Ania Lee Chappell for being incredible and assisting in my classes. They help shape our little community and I’m forever grateful for them ❤️ they are definitely part of this Finalist nomination and if I win, the drinks are on me!!

I’ve thought of a great idea 💡
Let’s do this, give the general public the remote to the shock collars, wack up the voltage and let us dish out JUSTICE as we see fit.

The story of Preston Harvey is just sickening beyond anything I’ve ever read.

Please let us pray that whoever they land in jail with, has a great old time 😏 🙏

🚨 CSI: West Yorkshire Sniffers – Episode 2 🚨

Missing Person: Amy.

Yes… her again.

After being located in our last investigation, Amy apparently decided to disappear once more.

This time she attempted to evade capture by hiding in dense overgrowth on a steep hillside bank.

Lead Investigator Show Cocker spaniel River was deployed to the scene.

The uphill section briefly threw River off the scent trail, and I lost my shoe, but after reassessing the scent trail, the investigation continued.

Despite Amy’s increasingly creative attempts to vanish into the wilderness, River successfully tracked her down.

At this point, we’re beginning to suspect Amy isn’t actually missing…

She just enjoys the attention.

Case closed. 🐾🚔
