This month is Itchy Pet Awareness Month! πŸΆπŸˆβ€

Lots of things can make our pets itchy, and a lot of the itchiness we see at this time of year is due to allergies to pollen or grasses. Just like hay fever in people!

Every pet is a little different so we can't treat them all the same.

Here is Jo, one of our wonderful nurses, looking at a sample taken by one of our vets from an itchy dog.

This was a sample taken from a very itchy armpit and we can see lots of small purple peanut shapes. These are yeast! 🧫

Taking samples and looking down the microscope means we can be more targeted in our treatment and understand our pets conditions better πŸ’—

In this case a mousse with anti-fungal ingredients was advised to help reduce the number of yeast alongside a chat about allergy management.

Benji came in for a little op with us, but found he wasn't overly interested in getting sleepy, so he came to join Laura on reception for the morning until his sleepy drugs started kicking in! 🀭
