☀️ A Message from Plymouth Pet Sitter ☀️

Please think twice before walking your dog in this heat.
Dogs can overheat very quickly, and heatstroke can become life-threatening in a matter of minutes. Hot pavements can also burn sensitive paw pads, causing painful injuries that may take weeks to heal.
A simple test is to place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5–10 seconds. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws.
Missing one or two walks during extreme weather is not going to be the end of the world. Your dog's safety is far more important. Instead, keep them mentally stimulated at home with toys, training, enrichment games, or a gentle play session in a cool area.
Early morning or late evening walks, when temperatures have dropped, are much safer options.
As dog owners, it is our responsibility to put our dogs' welfare first. No walk is worth risking heatstroke, burned paws, or serious illness.
🐾 Their safety comes before their routine. 🐾 A missed walk is temporary. Heatstroke can be fatal.
