Goldie’s Journey: It’s playtime! 🐈

Weeks 5 & 6 update: The kittens are now all using their litter trays, becoming much steadier on their paws, and spending their days exploring every nook and cranny they can find in the foster room.

Playtime is a huge part of their routine, with plenty of sibling wrestling matches, climbing adventures, and cuddles on laps when they finally tire themselves out. Their curiosity knows no bounds, and even Goldie's tail isn't safe from their playful hunting attempts! 🐾

Goldie is still feeding and grooming the little ones, but she'll soon be able to take a well-earned step back as they become more independent. Cinnamon, Sugar and Spice have started trying kitten food, marking the beginning of the weaning process.

Check back tomorrow for the next part of Goldies Journey! 🐈

Goldie’s Journey: The kittens are growing fast! 🐈

Weeks 3 & 4 update: Their ears have opened, their eyesight is improving, and their first weigh-in showed they're all healthy and thriving. ❤

They're becoming much more active too, spending their days playing, exploring and tumbling around together. Tiny teeth are now starting to appear, and they've swapped their birthing box for a cosy bed as their adventures take them further afield each day.

Goldie continues to care for the kittens, watching over them as they discover the world around them. 🐾

Goldie’s Journey: The kittens are here! 🐈

At the start of September, Goldie gave birth to a litter of three kittens. Our volunteer fosterer was there supporting Goldie throughout, and created a warm, safe environment for Goldie and the kittens.

🐾 Meet Cinnamon, Sugar and Spice 🐾
Two ginger males, and a pale ginger and white female kitten. We’ll help you see who-is-who tomorrow.

Week 1 update: they are cuddled together with some wobbly crawling tumbles to get comfy in the cuddle pile. Their eyes haven’t opened and their ears are folded over, they rely mainly on their sense of smell and can tell when Goldie is near!
Goldie is their main caregiver, taking care of all her kittens needs - feeding, grooming and toileting. She is eating well to make sure she has enough nutrients to provide for the family.

Week 2 update: the kittens' umbilical cords have now dropped off and their eyes are open, although they're still very sensitive to bright light. They're becoming a little more mobile too, wobbling around on unsteady legs as they start exploring their surroundings. Most of their day is still spent sleeping, nursing from Goldie, and gathering energy for their next little adventure!

🐾 Meet Priscilla 🐾

Priscilla is a lovely 11 year old cat who is hoping to find a quiet, stress-free home where she can relax and enjoy life at her own pace. 🐈‍⬛

Priscilla is an indoor-only cat and would suit a calm home with no other pets or children. We think Priscilla would be particularly well suited to a retired person or couple, or someone who works from home so that you and Priscilla can enjoy each others company.🏡

She does have a heart murmur, but this currently does not require any medication. She has recently had a full health and dental check and is now ready to find her new home. ❤

Goldie’s Journey: Entering foster care 🐈

This week we’re going to be doing something a bit different - sharing daily posts of a special cat in our foster care called Goldie. We’ve been documenting her journey over the past few weeks to show you some behind the scenes of our work, and hopefully by sharing her story we’ll be able to find her forever home ❤

🐾 Meet Goldie 🐾

Goldie is a beautiful 3-year-old ginger cat, who came to us from a multicat household. Goldie arrived to us expecting and had already had kittens previously, she is almost ready to leave her kitten-rearing days behind her!

💡Did you know only 79% of cats in the UK are neutered/spayed? To see more details about the benefits of neutering:

Goldie settled into her foster room well. She’s a calm, confident, sociable, and chatty cat who quickly made herself comfortable on our volunteers lap for a cuddle!

Goldie is looking for a new home where she can be the centre of attention, no dogs in the household but she could live with children. She would make a wonderful family companion. Once she has settled into your home, she would like access to a safe garden away from roads, as she loves to explore and chase leaves 🍂
