Seen a lot of grass seeds recently! ☹️
Mainly in between dogs paws. But they can often be found in ears, eyes & noses also. They are common in the summer months around woodland & in meadows/fields.
The seeds have very sharp ends which can pierce the skin and cause nasty infections. So it is important to check over your dog after each walk.
If your dog is affected by a grass seed, you may see the following =
-Licking of paws constantly.
-Painful swelling in between paws
-Limping
-Shaking their head
-Pawing or rubbing their ears
-Sneezing violently
-Redness, swelling or discharge on eyes.
- Chewing / Licking sore spots on body.
If you think a grass seed has embedded fully into your dogs skin or is in their eyes, seek vet help as soon as possible to avoid the seed travelling further into the body.
