💕🐾 Sweet, gentle older boy Eric needs a loving retirement home 🐾💕

Eric is just adorable, so calm, gentle and good natured. Another older boy who has just been rescued from a Romanian kill shelter, he now really needs some love and care. At 13kg he is underweight and we don’t think he has ever been brushed. In spite of this, he loves people and loves attention and affection - when he is being stroked his tail never stops wagging. He also gets on well with other dogs.
Now 10 years of age, Eric is at the point in his life where he really isn’t asking for much - just a home where he will be really loved and experience the kindness that has been lacking in his life until now.
If you have room for a soft cosy bed for Eric and can give him the loving home he deserves as he enters his golden years, please get in touch. ‎

💕🐾 Beautiful Tim will be coming here in early October. He needs a loving retirement home 🐾💕

Tim is a sweet boy. Recently rescued from one of Romania’s notorious kill shelters, he is getting used to kindness and regular meals in his private shelter there. He’s a gentle, good natured soul, a little shy on first meeting you but he warms up readily.
He gets on with other dogs and his little tail wags when he sees the people he knows now.
He walks reasonably well on the lead but could do with a bit more practice.
Tim is 10 years old and around 17kg.
All he wants now is a lovely home for his golden years, a home where he will be cherished, have a soft cosy bed and will know what it is to be really loved for the first time in his life.
If you can make room in your heart and in your home for this dear boy, please get in touch.

URGENT – YOUNG GRIFFON-TYPE DOG NEEDS EXPERIENCED RESCUE/FOSTER HOME

We. Have been asked to help this young dog who needs to learn manners but until now has shown a lovely nature

We are desperately trying to find a rescue organisation, experienced foster home or very knowledgeable adopter for a young male dog we originally found abandoned/stray in France.

We believe he is a Griffon Nivernais (or Griffon-type). He is approximately 1 year old and around 30 kg.

He is a beautiful, affectionate and intelligent young dog, but unfortunately he is now struggling badly in his current placement and needs someone who understands behavioural and attachment issues in young dogs.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: He bit a builder who went to the house today.
We do not want to hide this or minimise it. We are looking for someone experienced enough to properly assess what happened and work with him safely. We do not yet know whether this was fear, anxiety, resource guarding, frustration, over-attachment or another trigger, and we urgently need professional behavioural assessment rather than simply labelling him as an aggressive dog.

When we originally found him, he showed a very different side of himself. He was affectionate, people-oriented, wanted to be close to us, happily came inside, enjoyed being around people and was very loving and trusting with us.

He is still a very young dog, and we believe there may be a frightened/confused dog underneath the behaviours he is now displaying.

His current family are struggling to manage him and have been told/ they are considering euthanasia if a suitable placement cannot be found.

💔 We are desperately hoping someone will give him a chance before that happens.

We are looking specifically for:

🐾 A reputable rescue experienced with behavioural cases
🐾 An experienced foster home
🐾 Or an exceptionally knowledgeable adopter with access to a qualified behaviourist

He will need a careful, controlled placement and proper assessment, not a quick handover to another inexperienced family.

📍 Currently located in: Devon

If you are a rescue, behaviourist, experienced fosterer or know an organisation that may be able to help, please contact me urgently by private message.

Please share far and wide. 🙏

We know the bite is serious. We are not asking anyone to take unnecessary risks. We are asking whether there is someone with the experience and resources to assess this young dog properly and give him a chance before euthanasia becomes the outcome.

Please share – even if you cannot help, someone in your network may be able to.

💕🐾 Beauty, another lovely girl waiting for a chance to come here 🐾💕

Beauty by name and by nature, this super girl loves attention and is very responsive to being stroked and having treats. Her tail never stops wagging! She has a gentle nature and gets on well with other dogs. She isn’t keen on cats.
She already walks quite well on a lead and will definitely enjoy the chance to explore more once she’s here.
Dear Beauty has a slight limp due to arthritis and takes regular joint supplements to support this. Her limp doesn’t stop her playing with other dogs and loving life.
She is 5 years old and weighs approximately 19/20kg.
She is ready to travel and will come with a 6 months supply of her supplements.
All she needs now is a loving forever home or foster home so we can book her place on transport.
Please get in touch if you are interested in this lovely girl.

❤️ Update - our lovely Elsie has a wonderful foster home and will be coming here later in September ❤️

Elsie is beautiful both inside and out. She is really sweet natured and gentle with a lovely calm disposition. She gets on well with other dogs and cats too but it’s people she adores and wants to be close to - she is never happier than when she is being stroked and having lots of attention. She isn’t averse to having the odd treat or too either.
Once she is here and able to get out and about we think she will really love her walks.
Elsie will bring a lot of joy to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her.
She is 2 years old and weighs just 17kg. She is ready to travel and just needs a foster home or adoption offer so we can book her transport.
Please get in touch if you could foster Elsie or are interested in adopting her. ‎

❤️ Update - beautiful Cleo now has a wonderful foster home and will be coming here at the beginning of October ❤️

Our stunning girl Cleo is just lovely, always good natured and gentle. She is very happy around other dogs and comes for her treats with her tail wagging non stop. She so wants to come for cuddles but sometimes she is a little unsure of herself around people and backs away. We feel that the noise and bustle of shelter life really doesn’t help her. Once she is in a calm home she will blossom.
She is a really beautiful girl and so deserves to have the chance to find a loving forever home here.
She does need owners or fosterers who are prepared to give her the time and support she needs to gain confidence and really come into her own.
She is 3 years of age and weighs 15kg.
Please get in touch if you can imagine this gorgeous girl in your heart and your life. ‎

Our senior citizens make very good adopters for so many of our elderly dogs. They have time a comfortable home and plenty of affection to give.

However, a young dog is not a good fit to this type of home. Even a well behaved young dog could still be active past the owner's ability to walk it as much as the dog needs or even outlive its owner.

So whilst we would like to find everyone a dog to have as a loyal companion we would urge you to take into consideration the age of the dog you are considering and what you are capable of giving it in the way of exercise now and in the future and will that meet the dog's needs.

There is also a shortage of smaller dogs to meet this need. There is however, more choice in bigger dogs that are older. They can make loyal and gentle companions and sedate not boisterous or needing to walk for hours/miles a day.

So many older dogs are looking for homes and passed over because they are deemed too old or too big yet would make ideal companions for some of our senior citizens.
