I spent years fitting hoof boots and kept seeing the same problems.

Boots that twisted, rubbed, came off or simply stopped fitting as the hoof grew. And when you’re transitioning your horse to barefoot, the last thing you need is more frustration trying to find suitable protection.

As a farrier, I was used to shaping a shoe to fit an individual hoof. So why were we expecting a horse’s hoof to fit into a generic, fixed-shape boot?

I knew there had to be a better way.

That’s what led me to spend years developing the world’s 1st self-adjusting hoof boot.

Pioneer Sports Hoof Boots accommodates your horse’s individual hoof shape AND changes throughout the trim cycle.

Protection without nails or glue, while allowing natural hoof movement.

The boot adapts to the hoof.
Not the other way around.

I spent over 20 years as a farrier, but my journey into barefoot made me question the way we’d always done things.

I wanted to protect horses’ feet without nails or glue. Yet the boots available often twisted, rubbed, came off or stopped fitting as the hoof grew.

Why were we expecting the hoof to fit the boot, rather than the other way around?

That question led to years of development, a degree in prosthetics and orthotics, and some very expensive mistakes along the way.

But I couldn’t let the idea go

Today, that idea is Pioneer Sports Hoof Boots
the worlds first self-adjusting hoof boot, now ships around the world 🌍

Barefoot doesn’t mean unprotected. 🐎
