As we open up our page, we are greeted with 'What is on your mind?'.

We'll tell you what is on our minds, September!! - that is what we're beginning to concern ourselves with.

This September marks the official retirement of one of our big guns - Our very own Graham Evans, known to many as 'Grummie'.

It isn't rare to hear someone say 'nobody is irreplaceable' or 'we're all just a number'.

But when you consider that Grummie has a solid 50+ years in the game, it stands to reason that he has seen (and achieved) a lot!. You can't just replace that, and it is going to take someone special to step into Grummie's shoes and make them fit.

It might sound like a silly statement, but it takes a long time to build up 50 years experience! (about 50 years apparently :-) )

So come September, who is there to try and fill Grummie's shoes? do you know anyone?

Ornate Climbing Perch - 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘮𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘪

This is stunning little fish that should attain a size of up to around 3 in (7 cm).

This fish looks amazing in an aquarium that has tangles of wood and a generous amount of leaf-litter.

They really do look superb when kept in tannin-stained water.

Tankmates may include various tetras and rasboras etc. although in private collections at home, our staff tend to keep them in a species-specific set-up.

For feeding, small live and frozen foods are eagerly accepted.

Rainbow Snakehead - 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪

A stunning species of snakehead, and one that most people should be able to squeeze into the collection, with a typical size of around 6-7 in (15-17 cm).

Often touted as a tricky species to keep, but they're actually a lot simpler than you'd be led to believe!

Costa’s tetras are striking fish that should attain a size of around 5-6 cm.

They do well when kept as part of a group, the more the merrier. To see them at their best, keep them in a large group in a planted set-up.
