Kamal Fernandez is at The Dog Field at Pilning this weekend running Super Charge your Training Skills workshop on Saturday and Handlers Choice on Sunday for Canine Relate.

The weather forecast is much cooler for the weekend.

We have a handler place available for each day and spectator places available for both days.

Saturday 27th June – Super Charge Your Training Skills

Kamal will cover topics such as focus and engagement, working with distractions, reinforcement, motivation, how the dogs is feeling (building confidence, working with arousal) and much more.

Sunday 28th June - Handler’s Choice

During this workshop each partnership will receive two 15 minute slots with Kamal, where they can work on any topic they choose, whether that be pet dog skills or sports related.

Dogs will work individually.

Previous topics covered have included lead walking, recalls, competitive obedience exercises, send away, heel work, start line waits, adolescent dogs, reactivity, play, barking and retrieves.

Kamal Fernandez is returning to Canine Relate on the 27th and 28th June 2026.

Saturday 27th June – Super Charge Your Training Skills

• Does your dog struggle to focus on you in certain environments?
• Is your dog’s recall great until they see another dog, person or a wildlife?
• Does your dog work brilliantly at home or in training class, but training falls apart elsewhere?
• Are competitive environments challenging for your sports dog?
• Do you want to improve your training skills and have fun with your dog?

If Yes is the answer to any of the above, then this is the workshop for you!

Kamal will cover topics such as focus and engagement, working with distractions, reinforcement, motivation, how the dogs is feeling (building confidence, working with arousal) and much more.

Dogs will work in small groups and dogs who need a little space from people and dogs to feel comfortable can be accommodated.

Sunday 28th June – Handler’s Choice

During this workshop each partnership will receive two 15 minute slots with Kamal, where they can work on any topic they choose, whether that be pet dog skills or sports related. Dogs will work individually.

In addition, everyone will have the opportunity to watch each other and to learn from the advice given. Watching each other is really useful and enjoyable.

We have run this workshop previously and it is very popular. Previous topics covered have included lead walking, recalls, competitive obedience exercises, send away, heel work, start line waits, adolescent dogs, reactivity, play, barking and retrieves.

Dogs who need a little space from dogs and people to feel comfortable can be accommodated.

Further details Workshops will run from 9.30am until 5pm approximately.

Our venue is The Dog Field at Pilning near Bristol. This is an outdoor venue with a grass field and all weather arena.

Handler places are £100 per workshop.

Spectator places are £40 per workshop.
