A huge thank you to Jacqui from The British Horse Society for visiting us last week with the weighbridge!

Our Pony Camp participants learned so much about horse welfare, including the importance of maintaining a healthy weight and how to support horses based on their individual needs.

We were also delighted that three of our horses were awarded rosettes for being the ideal weight. Well done to Cody, Galan and Misty! 🏵️

What an amazing pony camp! 🐴✨

We've been hacking, taking part in instructional rides, grooming, tack cleaning, and learning all about horse welfare with the BHS weigh bridge. When the heat turned up, so did the water fights!

So many smiles, laughs, and new friendships were made that we'll all treasure forever.

Adult Day Camp

Take a break from everyday life and enjoy a relaxed day with horses in the countryside. 🌿

When: Monday 8 June 2026, Monday 6 July 2026
Time: 10am- 3pm
Age: 18+
Price: £120 per day

Suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners to advanced riders.

The day includes a hack, an instructional ride, practical yard activities and theory sessions. It’s a great chance to improve your riding, learn something new and enjoy time around horses in a friendly environment.

Pony Arts & Crafts Workshops 🐴🎨

Looking for a creative and memorable activity for your child? Come and join us at Westerlands for our magical Pony Arts & Crafts sessions- surrounded by ponies, nature, and lots of imagination ✨

Perfect for children who love art, creativity and horses, these inspiring 2-hour workshops gives them the chance to paint, create with clay, and use natural materials while spending time around our ponies.

Each child will create their own artwork to take home or display in our activity room 🖌️

What you’ve all been waiting for… 🌟

We are excited to introduce our new Saturday Rosette Awards Club (Non-Ridden)!

Perfect for young horse lovers who want to learn more about horses beyond riding. These fun practical and theory sessions will cover topics such as horse care, grooming, feeding and nutrition, parts of the horse, stable management, and horse welfare- all while building confidence and teamwork skills.

Each week children will earn a different rosette to take home and build a collection they’re proud of. 🏵️

Zulu’s progress 🐴🤎

Zulu joined us in September through the BHS Second Chance Rehoming Project, and has been settling into life at Westerlands ever since.

She started off enjoying lots of time out in the field, alongside her herd mates Daisy and Bongo (both fellow rescue ponies), and it wasn’t long before she made herself at home and fully relaxed into her new surroundings.

Since then, we’ve been gradually bringing her back into a routine with in-hand walks, exploring the farm. She’s now back in ridden work and has been thoroughly enjoying her new job. It’s been so rewarding to watch her progress and see her confidence continue to grow.

We’re so pleased to have her as part of the Westerlands family 🥰

Today is an emotional day for us...
Jessie has been a valued member of our team and touched the hearts of many. As he moves into his older years it is time for him to retire and return to his previous owner who has always loved him so very much.
Although we are sorry to say goodbye to Jessie we know he will be so loved and cared for, for the rest of his days with Karen Adsett
We wish you both much joy and happiness together 🐴✨️

Little Yard Helpers Club 🧹

Looking for something different to do with your little one? Come and join us for a special morning at the yard.

With guidance from our friendly, experienced team, children will get involved in simple yard jobs such as:

• Mucking out stables
• Putting down fresh bedding
• Sweeping and tidying the yard
• Preparing feed bowls
• Filling water buckets and haynets

A great way for children to learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy time at the yard in a calm, welcoming environment.

Tuesday Mornings
10:00am-11:00am
£10 per child.
Suitable for ages 3-5 yrs.
Parents stay throughout.
