In less than 48 hours - working with the team at - we stripped out our 7 year old treadmill at our Petersfield Clinic and upgraded to the latest advanced version for Canine care.

This will form part of our advance animal gait lab with assessment and treatment capabilities not found elsewhere in the region. The funding we received for this project will also help to create new rural jobs, training and research opportunities.

💫 Dog of the Month💫

It's back!!!! We're bringing back our Dog of the Month and the month of July goes to the one and only Buzz!

Buzz is an older gentleman who comes to us for physiotherapy and hydrotherapy in our underwater treadmill. Buzz will openly admit that the massage is his most favourite bit!

Keep up the good work Buzz!

Dorset (at the top of the ramp) says 'Oi, my sister has stolen my pool and my hydrotherapist!'

Lisa, our senior hydrotherapist, has been swimming Dorset for upwards of three years and today it was his sister, Devon's, turn..... much to Dorset's displeasure 😂🐶 We love you Dorset! (And Devon!)

🌞 It's getting hotter 🌞

As many of you will be aware there is a heatwave forecast over the next few days.

If your dog is due to have an appointment with us this week between Monday and Thursday you will have recieved an email detailing on how we plan to help keep your dog cool during their sessions, please take a moment to have a look at this email.

There is an increased risk of heat stroke for elderly, overweight and flat faced patients so if you do feel you need to rearrange your appointment please do let us know as soon as possible.

😴 The Importance of Rest 😴 (as demonstrated by Sid)

A study by Bodizs. R, et al, (2020) states that dogs sleep on average up to 10.1 hours a day! Wouldn't that be nice?!

However as physiotherapists and hydrotherapists 99.9% of the time we are looking at and also discussing movement.

Having said this we do sometimes advise rest as part of your pet's routine, especially after they have been for a session. Dogs and cats find therapy tiring physically as well as mentally so it is important they are allowed to rest once they get home.

13 year old Sid the German Shepherd comes to us weekly for sessions in our underwater treadmill. He works very hard and each week has been able to achieve more and more. After he finishes he heads home for a well deserved nap.
