Hampshire Highways have closed Stoner Hill from Petersfield again with no notice between 0900 and 1600 daily until 23rd April.

Please allow extra time for travel.

Alternative routes from Petersfield via the A272 > Langrish > Froxfield Green or the main road route of A272 > A32 > High Cross

Local residents (photos from Petersfield Pulse Facebook group) are reporting wild boar have taken to frequenting Stoner Hill Road.

Please drive carefully. Lots of drivers stopping to take photos and the occasional reckless driver going too fast for road conditions also.

Calling Dog Park users 🐾

We've had a spate of hole diggers recently. Today we filled over 15 different holes many of them significant in size. We dont bury gravy bones under the dog park - we promise!

Whilst digging is a natural dog behaviour - left holes are a major trip risk for dogs and humans alike. We are clamping down and using CCTV to monitor. If you leave your dog to dig and dont fill the hole immediately (shovel provided!) then you will unfortunately be banned from our site, potentially reported to other sites, and if the hole causes injury you may be liable for claims. Ideally you wont let your dog dig at all!

After a bit of TLC the mower roared into life today and we were able to get the first cut of the year in. The dog park always looks so much better after a fresh mow!

We arrived this morning to a tree from neighbouring land having collapsed through the fence line. A temporary fence has been erected around the tree stump to secure the dog park but the fallen tree will remain in situ until we can contact the new land owners.

The land where the tree has collapsed from was recently sold so it will take a little time to reach and resolve.

The dog park we believe is secure but strongly advise not climbing on or around the tree itself as we cannot be sure of what strength it has.

We're at our best at this time of year. Everything is blooming in to life and the park is firm under foot so we can give it a good mow.

As usual we've set half the park to open play meadow and the other half to wide pathways through longer grass sections. We've replaced lots of fencing with new wire mesh which not only looks more aesthetically pleasing but has created better separation between the business park and the dog park. It's also allowed us to open up a corner of previously inaccessible trees to explore.

We'll continue to replace and add new features over the coming months. But now is certainly the best time to enjoy our Dog Park.

🥎 We've dropped the ball 🥎

A combination of rainy weather, user damage and staff availability has meant we've not kept pace with maintenance of the Dog Park as we'd expect. We're working really hard to rectify this and hope to be able to present the Dog Park as we expect it to be very shortly. Please bare with us during this time.
