I bred this dog.

So really, I only have myself to blame. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣

A productive Sunday afternoon.

Twelve English Cocker Spaniel puppies. Absolutely nothing achieved.

Frankly, I respect the commitment. 🤣

The squeaks tho 🥹

One day old. Being washed by mum, finding the milk and sleeping.

It was a demanding schedule.

One from the Freyeden archives and before anyone gets excited, no, I have not come out of retirement and there is no new litter. 🤣

I do, however, have more than a decade’s worth of English Cocker Spaniel puppy footage sitting around doing absolutely nothing, so you may be seeing rather more of it. ❤️

Solace quietly letting me know all her sides are good sides! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣🐶

So I need an official photo of my beautiful sable English Cocker Spaniel girl for my cover, which is your favourite? 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5?

On this day six years ago - this was my morning! 🐶🐾

The gate opened, the tiny stampede began, breakfast was served… and then everyone promptly collapsed for a nap as though they’d completed a full day’s work. 😂

Another little moment from the Freyeden puppy archives.

Which part of puppy life do you love most: playtime, breakfast or the sleepy puppy pile? 🥰

⛈️ The night Solace was born…

Yesterday I shared that Solace arrived during a thunderstorm 15 months ago. This is the actual night itself - from me & Lexi resting in early labour to the puppies arriving, taking their first feed and finally settling safely beside Mum.

And somewhere in that beautiful little heap is Solace: Miss Pink Collar. 💗🐾

Real puppy-birth footage included.

For those of you who have one of Solace’s brothers or sisters from this litter, please do post a photo in the comments - I would absolutely love to see them! 🥹

Sound on ⛈️

Fifteen months ago, I delivered this beautiful sable girl Solace while thunder hammered the roof. Solace is Pepper and Lexi’s daughter, with generations of Freyeden behind her.

From three weeks old, the litter were carefully introduced to recorded everyday sounds, quietly at first, then gradually louder so the world would feel interesting rather than frightening.

This morning she gave one little start at the thunder, listened for a few seconds, snuggled closer… and went straight back to sleep with me on our boat!

Apparently, she still thinks thunder is a lullaby. 😂❤️

Anyone else enjoying the storm this morning? 🙂
