Nothing better then shooting over your own well trained dog, teaching a pup to drop to shot is a very important skill to learn, so that you and the pup can enjoy many successful seasons together.

Young Toto has come along way from the tiny little spaniel I picked up outside of Hawick, she is excellent at keeping a nice tight pattern now, and will hup on the whistle and too shot, just to smarten up her retrieving over the next week or so and we might be able to give her a go at a puppy working test or 2.

Going to be sad to see this lot who all go next week, all pups in the photo are going to loving homes where most will become working dogs in one field or another.

but unfortunately 2 are still available (not pictured), though hopefully we can find them a home soon enough, otherwise they’ll join my team for a short while until part/fully trained.

We would like to congratulate our Labs Suyian (first picture dog at the back) and Nugu who early this morning became parents to 9 puppies with a split of 7girls 6 black 1 yellow, and 2 boys 1 black and the other yellow.

Good day out doing hunting exercises with Toto, this involved dropping a couple tennis balls into light cover without Toto seeing them, before giving her the “seek/hunt” command and letting her finddd the balls.

This exercise is great for mental stimulation and helps build up the foundation and confidence when hunting both light and heavy cover.
