All of our team are animal lovers, many with extensive menageries of animals they look after. You can be sure that we'll provide the same level of care for your animal, as we would want for our own. We moved to new purpose build premises in 2001, to provide the very best veterinary service; with a central location, easy access, plenty of parking, reception space, treatment rooms and a dedicated equine centre. Our vet centre offers a comfortable waiting area (with a dedicated small animals waiting area), an on-site dispensary and laboratory (which means that we can provide a faster diagnosis). We also have an isolation ward, and diagnostic and surgical suite, to offer your animals the very best care available.

❗️❗️❗️Fireworks have already been going off in the Perth area. ❗️❗️❗️

Please make sure you are looking after your pets outside and inside your home🐕 🐇🐎🐈

2 in 3 cats and dogs are frightened by fireworks.

To help inside your home, here are a few tips:

- make a den with your pets favourite toy and or blanket to help them feel like they have a safe place to hide when scared 🙀
- give them food distractions and other enrichment games 🥕
- don't walk your dog at night when fireworks are most likely to be set off🐕‍🦺
- have music playing in your home that will relax your animals e.g. classical or reggae, soft-rock or species-specific compositions that feature slow tempos, gentle acoustic tones, and no heavy percussion or human voices 🎵

We all know fireworks night is fast approaching and we just want all your furry friends to feel safe 💕

World Arthritis Day 🩺

Pets often suffer from osteoarthritis but can be very skilled at masking pain. See below for some subtle signs of arthritis ⤵️

~ Morning stiffness or taking longer to get up after rest.
~ Hesitation before jumping, climbing stairs, getting into cars etc.
~ Licking or chewing at specific joints.
~ Loss of traction or slipping on hard floors.
~ Behavioural shifts such as withdrawal, irritability or sensitivity to touch.

🐇 Today is international rabbit day and we would like to spread awarness of the importance of neutering your pet bunny 🐰

Neutering isn't just about babies, it is vital for a long and healthy life. Listed below are some advantages to neutering rabbits

🐰 Unneutered females are at very high risk of two potentially fatal conditions. Uterine cancer and pyometra (infection of the womb/uterus). Studies show that around 40% of unneutered females will develop tumours by two years old. This number doubles by six years old regardless of whether the rabbit has been bred from. The only preventative treatment is neutering.

🐰 Prevents unwanted pregnancies and can prevent fighting/aggressive behaviour.

🐰 Unneutered male rabbits often spray urine like tom cats over their territory, their possessions (including their rabbit companion) and sometimes over you too!

🐰 Unneutered males occasionally develop cancer in their te**es and prostate gland. Although the risk is small, castration removes that risk completely.
