As promised… we are so pleased to share these photos, Ruby’s new brother is the one and only Teddy! Teddy came into our care two years ago, blind, confused & occasionally a little bit grumpy! What a transformation he has had, he is most loving, loyal & we must say cute little guy, who loves everyone he meets. He has become the focus of his family & now he has Ruby to hang out with!

Never leave your dog in a vehicle
A dog could die in a hot car in just minutes. Winding a window down is not enough to help your dog stay cool.

Think twice about car trips with your dog. If you do have to travel with your dog, plan your journey. Consider travelling at cooler times of the day, identify places to take breaks and avoid congested roads or busy times of day when you could get caught in traffic.

What to do if you see a dog in distress in a hot car
In England and Wales
Call 999 and ask for the police.
In Scotland

Call 999 and ask for the police, and/or call the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) on 0300 099 9999.

Think very carefully before you take your dog on a walk this week. With a rare red heat warning being issued in parts of the UK, hot pavements and high temperatures can quickly put dogs at risk 💔

Please share this post to reach more dog owners.

Hold the back of your hand to the ground for several seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

Walk dogs during the coolest times of the day, such as early morning or late evening. On exceptionally hot days, it may be best to avoid walks altogether and instead focus on enrichment activities and keeping your dog cool and comfortable at home.
