Please stay safe and help your pets stay cool today & tomorrow 🥵
⚠️ HEAT ALERT FOR PET OWNERS ⚠️
Today is forecast to be one of the hottest days of the year, with temperatures reaching dangerous levels for many pets.
Please take extra care, particularly with:
🐾 Flat-faced breeds (French Bulldogs, Pugs etc.)
🐾 Elderly pets
🐾 Young puppies and kittens
🐾 Overweight pets
🐾 Pets with heart or breathing conditions
🌡️ Dogs do NOT need a walk today if conditions are too hot. Missing one walk is far safer than risking heatstroke.
💧 Ensure pets have constant access to fresh water and plenty of shade.
🏠 Keep pets indoors during the hottest part of the day where possible and use fans or air conditioning to help keep them cool.
🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
⚠️ Heatstroke is a medical emergency. Signs can include:
• Excessive panting
• Difficulty breathing
• Drooling
• Weakness or collapse
• Vomiting
• Confusion or disorientation
If you are concerned your pet may be suffering from heatstroke, please contact us immediately.
