A little reminder about AI, fake posts & dogs 🐾
I’m sharing these pictures because they’re a good example of why we should all be a little careful about what we see on social media.
You may have seen the posts claiming something along the lines of:
“I went into the pet shop for one thing… and came out with a puppy!” 🐶
Then there’s a second picture supposedly showing the same dog seven years later.
Lovely story, right?🤷♂️
The problem is… this particular story and these images have been copied and reposted across numerous dog pages and groups, clearly designed to generate an emotional reaction and encourage people to comment and share. Possibly encourage you to buy something.
With AI-generated and manipulated images becoming increasingly convincing, it’s getting harder to tell what’s genuine and what isn’t.
So before we immediately believe, share or get emotional over a heartwarming dog story, it’s worth taking a moment to ask:
🤔 Is this actually a genuine post?
🤔 Where did the original image come from?
🤔 Has the same story appeared elsewhere?
🤔 Does the picture actually look authentic?
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying a lovely dog story — just don’t let a convincing picture and a few emotional words fool you. Or worse con you.
And remember… if it looks too perfect, it might just be AI. 😉
Not to mention that’s the biggest Jack Russell I’ve ever seen, it should be in the Guinness book of records 📖 😆
