Halstead Dog Obedience Club HDOC is a non-profit making Royal Kennel Club registered dog training club.

From puppy classes to competitive obedience, its aim is to make training your dog fun for both of you, with reward based methods.

Once again some fantastic results for Halstead Club. Some went to Redcar, others to Ditton. The roads to Ditton were challenging. Well done on persevering!
Some excellent training rounds reported back which are all important. As they say - money in the obedience bank.

Thanks to all who braved the heat on Sunday August 9th and supported our Fun Dog show and Have A Go Day.
We were very lucky to have prize winners goodie bags generously donated by Fullpip ltd (Gundog classes) & Seedee Pets of Sudbury (show, novelty and obedience classes).
All rosettes were sponsored by Linton shoot, Six Mile Bottom Shoot, AGF Consulting ltd, Westlodge Pet Hotel, HDOC.
An enormous thank you to everyone who gave up their day to run the rings.
A special thanks to Leaps and Bounds School for Hounds and K9 Scent & Search UK for bringing their equipment and running the very popular Have A Go Agility and Scentwork.
The proceeds of the day will be donated to EHAAT, an update will be provided once we have a final total.

And so finally the long-awaited weekend of 8th & 9th of August arrived.
The Halstead Dog Obedience Club show on Saturday followed by the Halstead Fun Show on Sunday.
What a superb weekend. Club members were of course out in full force. Teamwork and determination; laughter and friendship were abundant all around the showground before, during and after the events.

Halstead DOC Champ show:

Many congratulations to everyone who took part. Some were training their rounds, some were competing for the very first time and for some the setting was more familiar. But all put their skills to the ultimate obedience test: The ring.

Mandy and Belle won their class - it was their first time in the ring.
Izzy and Eclipse have now won out of Novice and will be A/B going forward.
Lily and Sky won two run offs for their places.
These are brilliant results to be very proud of.

Halstead DOC Championship Obedience Show 2026.
On behalf of myself, and the Halstead DOC committee, I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported our show weekend.
From the chief steward, judges, ring stewards, scoreboard stewards, decoy stewards, club and committee members, their spouses, friends and partners, venue owners, caterers, trade stands and many more undefined roles, everyone gave their time to ensure that the 2026 show was a success.
Thank you to the competitors for your entries.
Congratulations to our ticket winners Gill Winyard (D) and Jane Pottle (B).
Thank you for all of the positive comments about the show and Have A Go Day.
Right now it feels like thank goodness that's over but I am sure that, once we have all had time to recover, everyone who gave up their weekend to make both days such a success will be very proud of the part that they played over the weekend.
