“Lap spays” or “Key-hole spays” are the future of neutering, being less invasive, much quicker healing times- only 2 to 3 days- lower incidences of intra & postoperative complications and less painful than a traditional ovariohysterectomy.

Take care in the hot weather this weekend. ☀️

Walk your dogs 🐶🐾 early in the morning and later in the evening, keep them hydrated, in the shade and indoors and avoid over exercise.

Symptoms of heat stroke 🔥include heavy panting, restlessness, agitation, drooling, salivating, increased heart and respiratory rates and bright red gums and tongue.

Use water 💦to cool them down and call us immediately

Our experienced team now provides laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for bitch spays or “Lap Spays” at our main hospital Medivet Swanland 24 Hour

We saw gorgeous Tallulah the simply adorable Blue British Shorthair kitten for her first kitten check up at Medivet Patrington this week.

Poor little Tallulah had sadly hurt her paw whilst she’s been playing. She’s been checked over by the vet and prescribed some anti-inflammatory pain relief and she will be coming back for a revisit next week to see how she’s been getting on. Fingers crossed she’s getting better! 🤞🐱🐾💕

Say hi to Wally the cockatiel who has been in for a revisit after having a toe injury- sadly he needed one of his toes amputated but fortunately we prompt care by our out of hours team at Medivet Swanland 24 Hour 🏥he has gone on to make a great recovery!

Wally is a really character and we are sure you will all agree that he is also very handsome! 🦜💕
