Self-Employed Dog Groomer Wanted 🐾
An exciting opportunity to join Sound As A Hound Dog Grooming!
I’m looking for a second self-employed dog groomer to join me at Sound As A Hound Dog Grooming as the business continues to grow!
Having built the salon around a personal, relaxed and welcoming approach to dog grooming, I’m now looking for someone who shares the same values and would love to become part of what I’m building.
This isn’t your typical busy, conveyor-belt salon. I believe that both dogs and groomers benefit from a calm, enjoyable working environment. Every dog receives one-to-one attention from their groomer, with plenty of care and consideration given to their individual needs.
I’m looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude and wants to help maintain the personal feel of the salon as we grow. Someone who can work independently but also enjoys being part of a small, friendly team.
The Role
As a self-employed groomer, you’ll have your own table and the opportunity to build and manage your own clientele within the salon.
You’ll be responsible for your own appointments, clients and diary, while working alongside me to maintain the high standards and welcoming atmosphere that Sound As A Hound is built on.
I’m looking for someone who:
* Has a minimum of 2 years’ professional dog grooming experience and relevant qualifications.
* Is hardworking, self-motivated and passionate about producing high-quality grooms.
* Can consistently groom approximately 4 dogs per day, 5 days a week, within our standard appointment times.
* Is confident working independently and managing their own working days.
* Has excellent customer service skills and enjoys building relationships with clients.
* Can confidently manage their own diary and client list using Booksy.
* Has a calm, patient approach to handling dogs and understands the importance of their welfare.
* Takes pride in their work and has a good eye for detail.
* Has a good sense of humour, a positive attitude and brings good vibes to the salon!
Canine first aid training is preferred but not essential.
What I Can Offer
* 65% take home, with the opportunity to increase to 70% after 3 months.
* Your own dedicated grooming table and space within the salon.
* The opportunity to establish and grow your own clientele in a developing area with plenty of potential.
* A relaxed, friendly and supportive working environment.
* The freedom to manage your own clients and appointments.
* The opportunity to help shape the future of a growing independent grooming business.
Days and hours are flexible and can be discussed, with the expectation of grooming approximately 4 dogs per day, 5 days a week.
What’s Included?
I’ll provide:
* Your own grooming table.
* Use of the salon bath.
* Professional dryers.
* Shampoos.
* First aid products.
* Towels and Happy Hoodies.
* Access to the Booksy booking system.
* Water, Wi-Fi and electricity.
What You’ll Need to Supply
You’ll need to bring your own:
* Clippers.
* Blades and guards.
* Grooming scissors.
* Brushes and combs.
Who Am I Looking For?
I’m looking for someone who is not only a skilled groomer but also someone who will fit into the atmosphere I’ve worked hard to create.
I want the salon to remain a place where dogs feel comfortable, owners feel confident leaving their pets and groomers genuinely enjoy coming to work.
You’ll need to be happy working independently, taking responsibility for your own clients and maintaining high standards without constant supervision. Equally, I’m looking for someone friendly, approachable and easy to get along with.
As the business grows, I’d love to find someone who is enthusiastic about being part of that journey and helping maintain the personal touch that makes an independent salon special.
If you’re passionate about dogs, take pride in your work and want to be part of a small, friendly salon with room to grow, I’d love to hear from you!
How to Apply
If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, please email the following to:
[email protected]

I’d also love you to answer these three questions as part of your application:
