OCTOBER'S MANTRAILING DOG OF THE MONTH IS
Merlin with Les Pond
Les and Lesley have had an ongoing battle with pain management for Merlin for an old injury.
Now he has the go ahead for light work.
Here he is showing how brilliantly he remembers the game and just how good the canine nose is.
Note how he catches the scent of his trail layer through the gap before the final find.
The selection is to acknowledge Les and Lesley's dedication to Merlins care and Merlins stoic behaviour and perseverance coping with previous discomfort. 😍🤩

Saturday 17th October
Storrington.
4 teams worked in the Autumn sunshine today.
Young Arthur strutted his paws and wiggle on his longest trails yet.
Barnaby trailed over several junctions without any hesitation to which way he needed to go.
Puck and Snappy took the scent of their respective trail layers from a third party, the trail layer, having shaken hands with another person, the dogs took the scent of the trail layer from the handshake. Covering a fair distance. Pucks trail took him through a residential area to woodland. Snappy found his trail layer in a shop in the village.
Super nosework and super handler handling. Made for a Super Saturday. 👌
Well done teams. 👏

🐾🐾FEATURED🐾🐾
MANTRAILING DOG OF THE MONTH.
SEPTEMBER 2026
Mantrailing Dog of the Month.
Is LACEY with Maddie.
Lacey is the calmest working cocker spaniel.
Completely new to any type of Scentwork training, Little Lacey has proved her spaniel hunting abilities are super charged and honed beautifully into the skill of Mantrailing.
It is an absolute joy to watch her making choices and seamlessly working into that specific human scent.
Also to mention, Maddie at the other end of the lead. Quiet, waiting at appropriate moments for Lacey to work things out, taking the time to watch her dog, and keep contact with the line.
Well done team Lacey. 👏😍🤩
