Hi everyone,

We wanted to take a minute to chat about gut health, and how it can look when there's an imbalance in yout dogs gut bacteria. When dogs gut health becomes imbalanced (dysbiosis) their immune system goes in to overdrive, causing extreme inflammation and a triggering of skin allergies. This compromises their skin barrier, leading to scratching, chewing, excessive licking, and loose stools, as well as the bodies ability to absorb nutrients. We can tackle this by adding pre, pro, or post biotics to their diet. In acute cases, where your dog can have sickness and diarrhea, we recommend a probiotic concentrate paste. Have a look at the ranfe we have in store during your next visit 🥰☺️

Hey all,

We're often asked on ways to help dogs that are anxious or struggle to switch off. A good way of helping this is by introducing treats that have calming properties. Some of these ingredients will include:

Valerian root, which increases the gamma-aminibutynic acid (GABA) levels in the brain. This helps to natutally quieten the nervous system and encourages relaxtion.

Scullcap works similar to valerian root, and is great when pared with it, but it also has the added benefits of being antispasmodic/anti-inflammatory and is a natural antihistamine without making your dog drowsy.

Chamomile conatins apigenin which binds to the brain receptors to encourage relaxation. It helps an overstimulated dog to relax without sedation. Chamomile can also helo gastrointestinal upset and sore muscles.

Hey guys,

We've spoken abouy the benefitd of salmon oil before but we wanted to share the benefits if some other oils.

Flaxseed oil is a great source of plant based omega-3 fatty acids. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, boosts the immune system, and promotes a shiny, healthy coat.

Coconut oil differs to flaxseed oil as it can be given orally, and applied topically. It moisturises the skin/nose/paws, improves the condition of their coat, has antimicrobial properties, aids digestion and supports cognitive function.

Cod liver oil has anti-inflammatory properties, promotes a healthy/shiny coat, and helps lower blood pressure, triglyceride levels and supports cognition. We should not this can be added only when you're dog is not receiving the recommended daily dosage from their diet.

Have a look at these products on your next visit ☺️

Hi all,

During this hot weather, we feel it's important to remind you of the need to care for your dogs paws and nose. It's important to apply a paw and nose balm as it helps to heal cracked skin and keeps skin healthy. It also acts as a barrier to the weather in extreme conditions such as during a heatwave or snow/ice storm. Have a look at the range we have on your next visit 💓

Hey guys,

We're often asked what the best treat us for dogs who are prone to allergies and sensitivities and we always suggest single protein treats.

It helps as you are only exposing your dog to one source of animal protein at a time. It also helps with digestion by reducing the number of proteins in a single treat. They are also more nutritious as they are free from fillers or cheao mystert meat by products found in many multi-ingredient treats.

Have a look at the range we have for sale on your next visit.
