We have started the new month with a debt of £10170.40 which is really stressful and not the way we wanted to start a new month. We have so many animals needing to come into rescue but we have to try and pay some of our debit before it gets overwhelming. We are a rescue with no staff, no property so no electricity etc…every penny goes solely to help animals. The money we owe is broken down to-
£3470.52 for vet costs
£734.88 for horse, small animal and aviary feeding
£5964.00 for kennelling and emergency kennelling for dogs waiting to come into us
Thanks to all your support we don’t have to buy dog or cat food, thanks to the pets foundation we also don’t have to buy poultry food.
We hate having to ask for money as everyone supports us more than we could ever have hoped but we need to get these bills paid.

📢Just a wee heads up for any clients due the next couple of weeks. ☀️🐶🌡️

I’m keeping a close eye on the temperatures over the next few days. If it gets as hot as forecast, I may need to reschedule some afternoon appointments.

Even though I have an air conditioning unit in the salon, once the dryers are on the temperature can climb quickly and reach a point where I’m no longer happy it’s safe or comfortable for the dogs. Their welfare will always come first.

I’ve been starting much earlier in the mornings to work around the heat, so I’ll see how things go day by day and I’ll be in touch with anyone affected if I need to make any changes.

If your dog has a grooming appointment, please try to keep them as cool as possible beforehand. Avoid walks, zoomies or anything too energetic before they come in. The cooler they arrive, the better they’ll cope with their groom.

P.S. 🔥Just because it feels like a lovely sunny day to us doesn’t mean it’s safe for our dogs. Heatstroke can happen much faster than people realise and it can be fatal. On hot days it’s much kinder to leave your dog at home and save walks for early morning or later in the evening when it’s much cooler.❤️🐾

The heat puts pressure on many of the underlying conditions in our pets. The kidneys have to go into overdrive, the heart faces overwhelming pressure, and the lungs are worked to Olympic level. Pets facing this heat can exacerbate underlying conditions. That heart murmur may explode into a whole array of symptoms, the low grade kidney disease could become advanced.

Keep them cool, preferably below 19c, make sure they’re hydrated using water fountains and multiple water sources, add electrolytes if appropriate, wet them with COLD water periodically, monitor their clinical signs, and DO NOT, for dogs, think about walking in this hot weather.

I’m off on my holidays now been a busy few weeks ☀️thanks to my customers for keeping me busy, I can’t believe I’ve been open 5 years this year! Wouldn’t change it for the 🌎

Hi all,

I’m finishing up shortly for summer holidays ☀️🐚so my diary is full till near the end of July and as normal it might be a bit longer between regular grooms. Please message if you’re not booked in and I can pop you in for cancellations/next slot.
I may have a couple of smaller appointments early next week for de-shed, teeth cleans, bath and drys or mini grooms 🐾✂️
