We get it.

The first time you see a hairy cow ear or rabbit ear, you might think...

Absolutely NOT. 😂

But dogs generally have a VERY different opinion.

Hairy natural chews can provide chewing enrichment, and the fur is largely indigestible, so it passes through the digestive tract.

But here's the important bit 👇

Hairy treats aren't a magical wormer or replacement for veterinary parasite control.

You'll sometimes see claims online that fur "deworms" dogs — that's not something we'd recommend relying on.

We'd rather give you accurate information than make a product sound miraculous. 💚

If your dog enjoys natural chews, hairy ears can simply be another interesting texture and chewing experience to add some variety.

We might only be in September, but now is the time to start thinking about fireworks if you have a dog who struggles with them.

Preparation can make a huge difference.

Start thinking about:

🏠 Creating a comfortable safe space
📻 Introducing background noise
🧠 Finding enrichment your dog enjoys
🦴 Having long-lasting chews ready
👅 Trying frozen Licki Mats
🚪 Checking gates, doors, collars and ID details
💚 Looking at calming support BEFORE you actually need it

If your dog has previously shown significant fear around fireworks, speak to your vet early rather than waiting until fireworks are already going off.

We'll also be sharing lots of firework preparation tips over the coming weeks, as well as talking about some of the calming products we stock.

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is:

"He just needs more exercise!"

Exercise is incredibly important — but constantly trying to physically exhaust a dog isn't always the answer.

Dogs also need opportunities to:

👃 Sniff
🧠 Problem solve
👅 Lick
🦴 Chew
😴 Rest
🐾 Explore at their own pace
🐕‍🦺Train, specifically to their breed.

Some dogs actually need help learning how to switch off, rather than another hour of ball throwing!

Think balance — physical exercise, mental enrichment AND proper downtime. 💚
