🐰 Myxomatosis awareness
Recently, we had a stray rabbit presented with severe myxomatosis. Sadly, the disease was too advanced and the kindest option was to put them to sleep to prevent further suffering. 💔
Myxomatosis is a highly contagious and often fatal disease in rabbits. Signs can include swollen eyes and face, discharge, skin lesions, lethargy, loss of appetite and breathing difficulties.
💉 Vaccination is the best protection, and even indoor rabbits can be exposed.
If your rabbit shows any signs of illness, please contact your vet promptly and keep them away from other rabbits.
