Drop-ins on a hot day. When the house is hotter than the garden the only thing to do is get the sprinkler out 💦💦 Half an hour of getting wet and sitting in the shade followed by treats, fresh water and an indoor fan on full blast🌪️🌪️

Wow. What an incredibly busy fortnight it’s been! I had my busiest walking week ever (luckily before the heat set in!) followed by my two busiest weekends ever. This week has consisted of very early starts to get as many walks in as possible before it gets too hot after which I’ve been keeping furry clients company and cool indoors or in shady garden spots. I’ve met some lovely new clients, looked after some familiar faces while their humans have been away on holiday and had the pleasure of meeting some visitors to the local area while they were staying in one of Oundle’s dog-friendly Airbnbs! Thank you to all my clients, new and old!

Recently, in the space of a week I had to deal with a doggy client having a seizure and a bleeding paw requiring bandaging. So glad I had my Allwinds Dog First Aid training to fall back on. The paw belonged to my own Ted and once strapped up my mum, who spent her career nursing, told me how impressed she was with my ‘excellent bandaging skills’! 😂
Both dogs are absolutely fine now.

If you’re a dog owner, I would highly recommend taking an in-person dog first aid course containing a practical element. You will be surprised at how much you learn and you never know when you might need it. (Obviously Ted injured his paw on Easter Sunday didn’t he, never a weekday during vet opening hours!!)

Looking after these two while their humans were away for a few days was a pleasure. Lots of walks and cuddles! 😊🐾
