We started with a case of the teenage crazies, but actually once out of the gate teamwork mode kicked in. Because I patiently made sure we established calm and connection before setting off. We had a beautiful walk.
What did we do? I let Daisy use her genetics, do what her breed is made for. Mixed in some obedience practice. Finished with steady sniffs and a stroll through town to wind down with a bee rescue on the way. The fact she could wait patiently whilst I picked up a bee and placed it on some elderflower shows how far she's come.
Within five minutes of chatting on drop off, she was ready for a snooze.
This is what walks should look like, especially for adolescent dogs. Clarity, fulfilment, calm, then rest.
I'll post more tips on making sure you don't bring a wired, overtired monster back from walks, so make sure you're following for more.
