Mystery green pond? Absolutely not.

Dogs have many talents... identifying toxic algae isn't usually one of them!

Blue-green algae can be deadly, so if the water looks murky, green, or has a scummy layer on top, keep your pup well away.

Our advice?
🐶 Stick to clean, fresh water.
🐶 Look out for warning signs at local beauty spots.

Hot weather can be particularly dangerous for some dogs… ☀️

While all pets can struggle in the heat, breeds with short or flat faces (known as brachycephalic breeds) often find it much harder to stay cool.

Breeds such as Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers and Shih Tzus can be affected by Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS), a condition that can make breathing more difficult. As temperatures rise, these pets may be at greater risk of heat stress and heatstroke.

Signs your pet may be struggling include:

🐾 Noisy breathing
🐾 Excessive panting
🐾 Difficulty exercising
🐾 Gagging or retching
🐾 Blue or pale gums
🐾 Collapse in severe cases
