After a successful bid to Wigan MBC Greenslate Farm is now a Community Farm. We provide many services, such as a Care Farm for people with learning difficulties, educational visits for schools and colleges, mental wellbeing activities in nature, local regenerative food growing, and a hub to support other charities and community organisations. As a not for profit, self funded charity, we rely heav
ily on the generous fundraisers, service users and volunteers who make it all possible. The success of the scheme will rely on getting as many local people involved as possible. You will be able to take part in many different ways allowing you to fit in at whatever level of commitment suits your current lifestyle. Volunteering opportunities include working on the farm, maintenance, fundraising and assisting with community run workshops, skill swaps and community fun days.
