βοΈπΎ Hot Weather Reminder for Dog Owners πΎβοΈ
As temperatures rise, please remember that hot weather can be dangerous for our furry friends.
β οΈ Avoid walking dogs during the hottest part of the day (typically 11amβ4pm). Pavements can become extremely hot and may burn sensitive paw pads.
We are also in the red warning for heat this week so we would advise to completely skip your walks while it is this hot π₯΅
πΆ Before heading out, try the 7-second test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If itβs too hot for your hand, itβs too hot for your dogβs paws.
π§ Always provide fresh water, access to shade, and avoid strenuous exercise in warm weather.
π¨ Signs of heatstroke include:
β’ Excessive panting
β’ Drooling
β’ Lethargy
β’ Vomiting
β’ Collapse
If you suspect heatstroke, move your dog to a cool area and contact your vet immediately.
β€οΈ Your dogβs welfare always comes first at Scruffy Fluffs so if you need to rearrange your appointment get in touch with us.
Stay cool, stay safe, and give your pups plenty of extra cuddles! πβοΈ
