🤦🏻‍♀️I made a mistake and have this lovely tumbler (20oz) complete with straw, can be used for hot or cold drinks. I swear by mine for cold water, keeps it ice cold 🧊 for hours.

🏡As you can see it has an imperfection, where I have misprinted it, so it's looking for a new home at just £10!

🏃🏻‍♀️Be quick, once it's gone it's gone.

Summer supplements.

Do you feed them?
I feed Garlic, for a healthy heart and to help keep flies at bay, I've fed it for years with all of my horses.

Liver Flush - When Ragwort rears its ugly head

Sandout - we are on sand land, this lovely sun has left us with scorched grass and dry sandy conditions.

These are my 3 go to's in the summer months.

Do you feed summer supplements?
If so what?

*** IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO REMOVE RAGWORT FROM ALL LAND USED FOR GRAZING HORSES AND LIVESTOCK ***

I have, once again, been shocked at the amount of ragwort I’ve seen left in paddocks with horses in. Even the most clueless of horse owners can normally tell you that ragwort is poisonous to horses, so why are so many owners not pulling it?! There really is no excuse! Most of the UK currently has little to no grass, and yes, horses will eat it; they normally only eat it when it’s dry/wilted, but why risk them eating it by leaving it in bare paddocks? I’m talking about the fields absolutely covered in it, rather than the odd piece that catches us all out.

It is actually an OFFENCE to leave ragwort in any field intended for grazing or hay making, AND an offence to allow it to seed and spread onto neighbouring land, if that neighbouring land is used for the same. That neighbour is within their rights to take LEGAL ACTION against you, if you allow ragwort to flower and seed on your land. I cannot fathom why you wouldn’t want to clear your own paddocks of ragwort, as it is both chronically and acutely POISONOUS to horses. It is absolutely not safe to just assume that horses won’t eat it. There is hardly any grass in any paddocks at the moment, and these are normally the paddocks that you see full of ragwort.

Under the Weeds Act 1959, you can be FINED for leaving ragwort to flower and seed on your land, if it is used for, or adjacent to, grazing livestock. Yes, obviously it’s unlikely that DEFRA are going to look into every reported case, or even many cases, but I don’t understand why people with horses think it’s ok to leave it.

Ragwort poisoning is often fatal, and at best causes severe liver damage.

Don’t be complacent and lazy; pull that ragwort TODAY! We are all caught out by the odd bit of ragwort here and there, that has seemingly appeared overnight, but I’m talking about the crops of the stuff that should have been pulled weeks ago.

👋🏻 Hello, I'm Carrie and I am the founder of Dirty Horse & Muddy Boots. A travelling and online equestrian gift, tack, and equipment shop.

🙋🏻‍♀️It's been a while since I introduced myself and with high changes coming for the business, I thought I better get a little more social and let you all know the person behind the small business.

🩶Apparently I like Gray horses! Even though I always say no more Grays, they always find their way to me, I did add in Jeeves & Sgt to prove I have had other colour horses.

🤍 I named our business after Sullivan, at the time he was on clay land and we had suck your boot off mud, however, it is a bit of each of my Gray horses that keep me inspired.

💙 My passion for horses comes from my Dad 😇 who I miss dearly after losing him in December 2025

🛍️Our best sellers by far are our slogan T shirt and hoodies, personalised items, as well as our grooming products especially the whitening shampoo, which is incredible.

❤️ if you're here following our journey I want to say a big heartfelt thank you, because business is HARD, it's harder than keeping a grey horse looking gray (white) and it's more expensive to run than keeping horses. So your support means the world to me, a like, a share and a comment go along way and are all free ways of helping us reach more people.

👀 keep an eye out for the big changes coming.
