Fantastic dogs 👏👏

Great start to the beating season and to start it off I took the lovely Xena and Maverick with me. They both worked really hard today and I’m so proud of them. We was even given a rainbow to frame their photo. Well done OxheyTop gundog team 👏👏💕💕

More assistance dog training with our lovely residential Labrador. 🐾💕

Today we visited a different café, where he did some fantastic work around lots of people, with customers coming and going and staff serving food. He even had a little treat while remaining settled and focused. 👏

We then went into Tesco, where we have permission to train with the dogs in their stores. Today was just a quick walk around to keep things positive and not put too much pressure on him, followed by practising going up and down in the lift.

Really good work from this lovely boy today. ❤️ He is doing so well, and we’ll be doing it all again next week! 🐾👏

I’ve been out training this young dog today 🐾💕

This is Xena’s son, who is here with me for residential training to put him through his paces, with the hope that he may go on to become an assistance dog for his family.

We had a really good day, including two café visits, where he worked beautifully in different environments. We also worked on his heelwork, which is already really good and just needed a little polishing up.

All credit to his owners, who have clearly put a lot of time, effort and training into this lovely young dog. 👏👏💕

Fantastic puppy class tonight where we worked on heel work, sit stay and recall across the arena. You’re all doing so well. See you next week 👏👏🤷‍♀️

This afternoon was our Novice Gundog Class. 🐾

With the beating season now here, we worked on fitness for both the dogs and their handlers. There was lots of uphill retrieving for the dogs, and plenty of walking for the handlers as they placed the dummies around the field!

We worked on throwing two dummies and stopping the dog part way to redirect them to retrieve the other dummy. We also worked on our sit-stays and recalls from across the field.

A great afternoon of hard work from everyone!

Well done all, and I look forward to seeing you next week. 👏🐶

What a great start to our new Pet Gundog Foundation Class! 🐾👏

Today we worked on placeboard training and some heelwork, introducing the dogs to the foundations they’ll build on throughout the course.

We also had our Improvers join us, working on steadiness and directional exercises. 🎯🐶

Well done, everyone! You all did brilliantly. 👏❤️

Looking forward to seeing you all again next week! 🐾
