Made-Well CIC Made-Well is a not-for-profit community interest company providing a safe and welcoming place for all! We are open to the public. There is no entrance fee.

Based just outside of Hatherleigh, nr Okehampton, we offer enabling opportunities for adults and young people as well as public events and activities! Made-Well is a not-for-profit community interest company established in August 2007 which provides positive and purposeful opportunities. We reach out to all people, especially those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities mental illness a

nd loneliness. Our site is family & dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. We have an inclusive playground, Changing Places toilet, animals and gardens. The services that Made-Well offers include:

- Support and enabling for young people and adults with a learning & / or physical disability or mental health condition, in a group or on a 1-1 basis. A range of sessions including farm and sheep work, animal care, café, woodwork, horticulture, life skills, cooking, arts and crafts, music, maintenance, day trips, community events and activities, sports and exercise, market days, supported employment opportunities and supported holidays. We offer a free taster day. To arrange a visit, please email [email protected]

- Pony therapy sessions, 1:1 or small group. Please contact [email protected] to book.

- Animal Club every Saturday, for all ages and abilities. Fun for the whole family or come on your own and meet others who enjoy spending time with animals. Please see our website for further information and to book (or pay in our cafe).

- Need a venue? We have facilities to hire including our sensory room and the Pebble (with kitchen facilities). We cater for birthday parties. Please see our website for further information.

- Party and Therapy Ponies: we come to you! Our Shetland ponies can come to your special occasion. Please contact [email protected] for a quote.

Join us for the SENsory Nest Playgroup and the Parent & Carer Support Group this THURSDAY, groups that form the SEN Hub here at Made-Well 💞

The SENsory Nest Playgroup offers accessible and inclusive fun for ages 5 and under, whether your child experiences SEN or not - no diagnoses are required to join the group, which is open to all! For £5 a session, we provide safe, engaging and SEN-friendly activities led by Emma Martin, a qualified Early Years Practitioner and SEN specialist with over twenty five years of professional and personal experience. Additionally, if you are considering whether your child may require additional support, Emma can provide guidance and support to you during these sessions whilst your child enjoys sensory play and guided activities🌻

Our FREE Parent & Carer Support Group will now run at a NEW time of 1pm-3pm each Thursday, offering a safe, drop-in space for chats about the highs and lows of being a parent and/or carer. Emma Martin, our fantastic and experienced facilitator, is able to bring advice and expertise on a variety of subjects including funding, wellbeing, assessments and signposting services. Children are more than welcome, too! 😁 There is no need to book this group, just show up whenever suits you 👌

Looking for a calm, welcoming space to relax or have some sensory fun? 🤩✨

Our sensory room at Made-Well CIC is open for everyone to book. Shared sessions are just £5pp for 50 minutes, or £30 if you’d like the whole room to yourselves

Inside you’ll find bubble tubes, interactive lighting, a sensory play table, aroma panel, fibre optics, ball pool, Bluetooth speakers and plenty of tactile equipment. We also have a gantry hoist available (please bring your own sling) 🔮

Made-Well isn’t just the sensory room either – we’re set in the countryside with animals, wellbeing activities, day services and a friendly café, all built around being inclusive and welcoming to all 💕

Planning a family day out this weekend? Why not spend the day at Made-Well and discover everything our site has to offer for all ages 🌻

Open daily from 9am to 4pm, Made-Well is a welcoming, relaxed and SEND-friendly space where everyone can feel comfortable and included. Meet our friendly animals including ponies, goats, rabbits, chickens and more, and enjoy seeing our llamas now settled into the paddocks for even closer visits 🦙🐰🐴

There’s plenty for children to enjoy, from the outdoor park and accessible play equipment to the indoor play area in the Animal Barn. On Saturdays, Animal Club gives young animal lovers the chance to get even more involved 🐾

Take time to explore the gardens and outdoor spaces, enjoy a coffee, lunch or snack in the café, or unwind in one of our covered indoor areas if the weather turns. Visitors can also book our sensory room, make use of our fully accessible Changing Places toilet, and enjoy free Wi-Fi and parking. Dogs on leads are welcome too 🐕

You’ll also find a cosy café play corner and a community book swap and library area, making Made-Well the perfect place to slow down, explore and spend quality time together this weekend.
